I don't recall his name, but the good father was a repeat Chinetti customer. Hopefully it was family money, not from the collection basket?
If indeed it was 1491 GT the car is no longer Nocciola but now Rosso. I have to say I'm rather partial to Nocciola cars and when browsing found this lovely pair (812 and Dino). The colour is possibly not for everyone but it definitely works for me.... Darren Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
As far as I know, there were two Series I cars in this color, 1375GT and 1491GT. The complete interior of 1375GT was for sale on ebay around 2014, and these aluminum panels would have been reused during a reupholstery. It's a safe bet that 1375GT is no longer with us and the car in the earlier post is 1491GT. Previously unknown car (to the Registry anyways) : 0995 GT https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/ferrari/250/1958/1058792 The Registry website will be updated once I remember the password....its been that long since a "new" PF coupe was found ! Edit....remembered it https://www.ferrari250registry.com/portfolio-collections/series1/0995gt-5893bb
https://www.oldtimergalerie.ch/en/73/23/?oid=65&lang=en#/detail/ferrari-250-gt-coup-pinin-farina-1958/32546 No photos of stampings. English text says matching number for "all important technical" components, while German text has no qualifier, says for "alle Elemente". Wonder if that means that they were able to reunite it with the original engine 0995GT that reportedly had been served as a (spare?) engine for 1385GT?
Original engine 0995 GT was removed from chassis 0995 GT in August 2000 and re-installed again in chassis 0995 GT in September 2006. During those six years engine 0995 GT had served in 250 TDF LWB Berlinetta chassis 1385 GT. Original engine 0995 GT is back in the original chassis (reunited) since almost 19 years. Marcel Massini
