For the 2 days when the car was parked before the tow truck arrived, did you have the car on a battery tender? When you put the car on a tender, do you eventually get a green light and reach a fully charged state?

I’m asking because your dealer mentioned you have low voltage, despite having a new battery. I was having issues with the battery tender connection being dirty, so the tender was clicking a lot and the light was blinking (Ferrari tender). Dealer asked me to clean the contacts on the car (they get really dirty sitting by the license plate), even recommending using steel wool on them. I decided not to use steel wool and resorted to a paper towel with vinegar. That fixed the issue.

I also switched from the Ferrari tender to a CTEK 7002 due to its higher amps (there was an Fchat thread in which a member tested different tenders). The dash display for battery voltage now shows >14v routinely, when it only reached 12 to mid-13v range on the Ferrari tender. I have no idea if this makes a difference, or if it would help you, but my battery seems to be in better shape with the 7002’s higher amps than with the Ferrari-branded tender’s lower amps

I bleieve I did not charge it this time.
But when i got the car I did purchase a ctek mxs 5.0, because I heard that the ferrari tender was junk.
I will try cleaning off the contact point, because I'm it gets dirty.
I daily drive the car 100 miles a day.

    Thanks!

Cleaning the contacts is worth a shot, as it’s easy and free.

CTEK MXS 5.0 has the same amps as Ferrari-branded charger, I think. That’s why I went with the 7002. If I can find the thread with the tests of the different tenders, I’ll post it.

Again, I have no idea if these ideas will help, but a battery or tender issue would be better than PTU failure. Good luck!

PTU saga has come to an end.
Dealer Finally confirmed PTU failure and Ferrari headquarters agreed.
Onto a new PTU. Very frustrating experience.

Heads up to all.. make sure you demonstrate the failure alerts to the dealer, if the system resets the dealer can not confirm a diagnosis.

Thanks for all the tips, and help!

Sorry that it ended up being PTU failure, but at least you have an answer. Good luck with the PTU replacement. Is it under warranty?

Sorry to hear that it is PTU failure after all.
Glad you you’re being taken care of under warranty.

And thanks for coming back to confirm the outcome. I’ll add your failed PTU to the database.

Glad its covered, great point about demonstrating the issues, since most of us have a smartphone on us most of the time these days, if you can, when the errors present, try to take a video / pictures.

I did that as well…they said they needed the problem to be actively occurring and have their computer connected to vehicle.
It’s crazy ferrari isn’t satisfied with error codes being pulled.
