Thinking about selling my beautiful 360 coupe, turnkey car. Previously owned 355, Cali T and 458.....thinking about the 599. Anyone moved from 360 to 599? What was the owner experience like? How was the 599 different with respect to "daily" driving experience? General ownership cost comparison over a 2-3 year period?
    Thank you.

I’d rather have a 550 but just my opinion. Going purely on looks and nothing else.

Great idea, actually. Might totally consider that too! Do you think the 550 is that much "better" looking? I feel the 599 is better in person than in pictures.

The 550 is iconic and I feel one of the best gf designs Ferrari has done in the modern era. The 599 has a bit of a goofy look up front with a bland rear. I’m sure it’s a great car though. The 550’s are coming up too which makes it a good investment.

I feel the 599 looks great at the front, but from the windscreen back it looks very awkward. Like it's been squashed.

I like the 599 a lot and have been thinking the same move also. The interior of the 599 has this mature and sophisticated feel to it. I like the 599’s bulky muscular rear and long sloped downward front. The 550 is nice and 100 percent a future investment but I know my heart would still want the 599 if I bought the 550. I don’t want to sit in the 550’s interior often. The 599 is a true executive GT cruiser and very understated but sexy car if the right spec is chosen.

Can you keep the 360 and get a 599? I have a 360 and a front v12 and it’s perfect to have both.

personally I prefer the 550 but a 599 in the right spec is something I would buy (black, dark red, or dark blue). My only issue with the 599 is that the rear bumper/beltline seems too high to me

550s seem to be back in reasonable price territory but ymmv. I’d get a driver and…you guessed it…drive it

Kind of a hard choice--- going from a mid engine V8 to a front engine V12. The 360 is such a different car in so many respects. But with that said, I would say a 599 is a great looking GT.
For me I'd be hard pressed to give up my 360. After 6 years of ownership the Honeymoon continues...

I’d rather have both a 550 for looks and MT and a F12 for looks, transmission and performance

I love my 360 also and took forever to find the right one. I also only buy from the private party market (actual owners) because I want to know who previously owned my car. I like the 599 a lot and I never really thought to own both but I don’t really have the garage space but I could make it work. This forum always makes me change my mind a million times from 430,458,599,308, Cali 30, 512TR. One thing I noticed is that I don’t like the newer cars for some reason like 488 and beyond.

Did you go 458 to 360? Curious why if so, and how they compare being two generations apart.

Not a fair question. Asking if you should go from a nimble mid-engine V8 to a front-engine V12.
I have an F430 and have driven a 599. The 599 is fast and comfortable. Not a GT fan but if I would purchase one I"d get a 550 gated.

The 599 is two different cars in one, a relatively modern GT and a real sports car, thanks to its mid-front engine layout (engine behind the front axle). Although less powerful than a 458 on paper, it does not lack power thanks to its flatter power curve.
The 550 is more a pure GT with its front engine (sitting on the front axle), and it's really outdated in all characteristics - but that makes it a classic car, which the 599 is not.

I don't have a 599 but have looked at a few in person. Much better looking in person. Unlike the 550/575, it is all aluminum like the 360 and up mid engine cars. The 550/575 has the last of the Columbo engines (like the 360 has the last of the Dino engines), whereas the 599 has a modern engine that is also used in the Enzo. All 599's have really cool looking seats - look like the racing seats in 360/430. Also a cool feature of the 599 which is hard to see in person are the "flying buttresses" for the C-pillar, similar but not nearly as dramatic as the second gen Ford GT. Definitely worth looking at. Great V-12 sound and big HP.

Yeah was gonna get 488 then that fell thru and prices went crazy. This is my third 360 and I always come back to it when I'm in-between Ferrari cars cause it's a childhood favorite and just all time beautiful car to me. 458 was amazing!

My 2 cents, I wouldn't consider replacing my mid engine (F430) with a front engine, but if I could add a car, it would be a 599 in an unusual spec (they look great in non-red/black colors imho) and I'd convert it to a 6spd. That would be an awesome car to drive and own. I absolutely love the 599 interior.

Correction to my post above: although the power to weight ratio is better on the 458, the 599 has actually more power - not only at lower rev, but also at the max.
And if one accepts the toll on the tyres and brakes, the 599 can be impressive on the track (and it's even more fun, since it's initially unexpected).

I have owned a 599 and have long term CS ownership. The 599 has an incredible engine but the car is big and feels big. Even with the HGTE package it rolls a lot in turns. I ended up selling mine. Great as a long-distance cruiser but not as a fun toy for a Sunday drive in the mountains. Less smiles/mile.

I sold my first 360 for a 599 after 5 years. I think the 599 looks so much better in person than in pictures and I ended up with a color I never thought I would get which was Grigio Titanio. In person the car was incredible and the black leather and carbon fiber interior with red stitching was amazing. This was in 2018 and I was always amazed at the power of the car and the ride on longer trips was wonderful but in the end I missed the sound of my 360's challenge exhaust. I thought about adding the Fiammenghi exhaust but in the end decided to sell it for a CS which I still have. I think everyone should experience a V12 at some point. I'd also add that the F1 in the 599 is pretty amazing and I would still take that over a dual clutch unless it was a daily driver. I'd have to find the receipts but I recall the 599 annual service being significantly more than the 360 but that is all I ever needed and you don't hear much about actual engine issues with he V12.
