Congrats on the new toy and finally joining the club. Joining Ferrari chat was pretty much the first thing I did upon owning the car. The members here are a wonderful bunch and the information and help being shared is invaluable.

That's a good looking machine with a cool color combination. I got my California 30 in 2020 and averaged about 2,000 km a year. So not a lot of mileage on it, and the car was reasonably reliable. I believe I bought it with around 20,000 km on it and traded it in on a California turbo back on Thursday January 31 2025.

I've always been a big fan of the Ferrari GT cars. And for me, the California is the ultimate machine. It's a convertible, I've got room for a couple sets of golf clubs and lots of room for road trips. Is the practical Ferrari as I always say.

The scariest thing that happened at one point was a hydraulic leak in one of the lines that actuates the convertible roof. The Ferrari dealer wanted something around $30,000 to replace the entire hydraulic line and pump and so forth. And really all I needed to do was use a coupler, just like you would in plumbing, to repair the issue. My mechanic cut away a couple inches of hydraulic line that had a kink in it that caused the leak. This appears to have originated in the factory when the car was built as it was in an area that should never have had a kink. The couplers is can be found online and I think they're around $50 each? So in the end with the couplers and a little bit of extra hydraulic line and labor, I believe was all fixed up for around $800. Other than that I just serviced it yearly. And yes Ferraris are known to be a little bit glitchy when it comes to batteries and voltage I've been told. Even the local dealer told me that the other day. Some things can be cleared up by simply disconnecting one of the battery terminals for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. Other times just a restart. Like I remember a couple of times, my remote wouldn't unlock the doors or the trunk. Disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few minutes and reconnecting it seem to resolve the issue each time it happened. And yes always keep your battery on a trickle charger. Don't let that voltage drop is what I've been told.

Call the little glitches that you may experience can be explained on this forum.

And yeah the first thing I noticed when I switched over to the California turbo is the difference in exhaust note. I do miss the shrill exhaust note of the California 30. But I'm getting the HS exhaust installed in a few days so that'll sound better.

Hope the weather clears up soon and you have a chance to enjoy your new toy. I got mine one day before our first snowfall in Vancouver. So it's been sitting in the garage for 2 and 1/2 weeks while I wait for the snow to melt and the skies to dry up and all the salt to be washed away from the roads.

    Cheers
