They're not racing yet?
How convenient. A debris caution just in time for everyone to get their fuel refill under yellow. Some things never change.
remember Trevor Bayne? lol but I think the "roulette" aspect has gotten worse in the last 5-10 years. overly managed competition
Fox has some great camerawork at COTA in the prerace show. It's interesting to see how empty the hill at turn 1 is compared to the years I attended F1 there. NASCAR shortened the track path and increased the number of laps.
Saves them the embarrassment of being 30+ seconds slower than F-1 and 10 seconds slower than MotoGP on the 3.426 mile course. The few minutes I watched, the NASCAR boys look absolutely pedestrian at COTA. It's like watching racing in slow motion. Give them credit for shaking up their schedule though. It had to be monotonous to run the same schedule year after year and starting the season by criss-crossing the country four times. They are trying things but the product remains in the same. BHW
I've been (or was) a NASCAR fan since the 60's. But 'dega ain't racin' anymore. It's reckless driving at 200 mph for 500 miles. When you have 30 or more cars on the lead lap and the guy in last is just as fast as the guy in first but just could get to the front, what's the point. Might be more interesting if the time to complete 500 miles started for each car when the first pasted the start line and ended when they crossed the finish line. Each car having it's own time. The way it is now is no different that driving 500 miles down I-95. Yeah, I'll watch 'dega. Keeps the wife away and gives me a chance to take a nap and wake up for the wrecks.
