While the leather of my 11 years old 458 still smells like new, the leather of my 575M does not smell as fresh leather should smell (well, it’s a 20 y/o car…).

Any ideas how to bring the leather to smell like from Ferrari factory?

    Thanks, Markus

I apply Leatherique every couple of years to all my F cars and it really brings out / retains the wonderful leather scent, even the couple I have from the 80s. It’s a messy, labor intensive process but the results are really great and keeps the leather soft and supple. Best of luck!

Thanks for the replies! I just ordered Zaino’s Z-10 Leather in a bottle. Will give Leatherique also a try if Zaino’s does not get the results I am looking for.

If you can find Connelly (sp?) Hyde food it works wonders. Not sure they still make it but it may be available.

Don’t try any of that synthetic stuff. It will give you a skin reaction and make it smell fake. Instead take a leather brush and scrub your leather interior all over. It’s that simple, makes it smell like when it was new

That’s what I usually do every two years or so when I clean the leather in my cars.

Brush it dry? Do you clean it first?

I clean it with soap and a brush (wet). Do you mean to use a brush to brush it dry without any soap oder other stuff? Just a brush and nothing else?

Take a soft horse hair brush. Go to a shoe cobbler and ask what product they use for their finest leather shoes. Or go to a Connelly leather upholsterer and ask what they use. Buy that, take your horse hair brush and and start cleaning with that product. Then take a microfiber towel and wipe clean

My trick is to use Leatherique to condition and keep the leather soft and as new as possible
Then I also use Zaino on a sponge and place it in a small tray on the floor with windows up for a few days to give it that new leather scent
Seems like Zaino scent is the same scent as the leather when I bought my 575.

100 percent agree. Leatherique once a year and then I use Zain 4-6 in a year. So easy. My 575 is a 2005 and the interior looks and smells absolutely new

How did you find Zaino’s? Am also wondering how to bring back that new leather smell in my 812. It was totally vanquished when the air con system was cleaned. Air con no longer smells iffy but the leather smell was also wiped out. Shame. Used to have such a welcoming scent that made you feel good as soon as you got in the car. Would be great to find a way to bring it back.
