Good video from EE as usual. Although it could have explained better why high revving engine does not need as high maximum torque. While Ferrari 3-litre V6 beats Lambo 4-litre V8 in maximum torque by 10 Nm: ICE torque (max): 296 GTB: 740 Nm @ 6250 rpm (+1.4%) Temerario: 730 Nm @ 4000 - 7000 rpm The difference is more dramatic in total system torque, where Ferrari beats Lambo by 100 Nm. Total system torque (max): 296 GTB: 900 Nm (+12.5%) Temerario: 800 Nm That said, torque comparison is not totally fair. Due to higher rev range, Temerario will have shorter gear ratios than 296 GTB and is therefore likely to put more power to the road on the same gear on the same travel speed. Max revs: 296 GTB: 8500 rpm Temerario: 10 000 rpm (+17.6%)
Does anyone know when Temerario production will start and when first deliveries in the US will start?
Seems to be very little interest in this car, even compared to the Revuelto....not just here but across all social media. Is a $450k (optioned) "junior" Lamborghini just too much? I once agreed to buy a well loaded new Gallardo spider for $205k in 2013.
My dealer attended a training event in LA a few weeks ago, where they were told that, globally, the car is struggling to sell. Dealers were advised to push base specs to keep the price down. I think it goes beyond price, people have been lukewarm on the looks, and of course, the lack of a V10 has turned off buyers.
The 'standard' Temerario will be priced from £260,035 with the lighter, more focused Alleggerita versions priced at £297,235. I think people are also concerned with the depreciation curve too, look at the Ferrari 296 / SF90, losing a lot of value in less than one year and not shifting at dealers. There are only so many people who can and want to buy these sort of cars, have we reached some form of saturation point here?
All of these cars are way overpriced and the resale numbers are proof. 296, sf90, Rev and the Temario.
IMO, it is the electrification crap we need to push back against….there have been turbo cars that are legends
Lambo is all about look and sound, turbo engine is for track performance cars witch Lambo never was, turbo is for Ferrari and Porsche
Have not seen the Temerario in real life, so the jury is still out. But based on pics and vids, not my cup of tea. I think the front looks lackluster. I DO NOT like those hexagonal DRL's. They look aftermarket and out of place in that design. Interior looks ok, but they kept those horrible carbon racing buckets. Biggest problem, when dealer contacted me, pricerange that was quoted was eyewatering, because in my mind it is a 296 competitor. While dealer clearly sees it as a level above the 296, and gave me some "attitude" about the lowly 296. It put me off.
This post sounds all backwards.... Lamborghini sure as hell care about track cars, witness the Performante and STO....and yet those aren't turbocharged. Lamborghini also has its own racing series, so you are selling them WAY short Porsche's lead track car model is of course the GT3....but it isn't turbocharged either In the Porsche world, the turbo cars are street cars where extra torque is a big benefit. For Ferrari, they made exactly ONE turbo track car.....and the way boost came on back then detracted from track use, so they ended up being street cars. All their other turbo models are again street cars
