Image Unavailable, Please Login Got my GTB in April of 2024 after ordering car in late 2022. Love the car and probably the best car I have ever driven. I also own a 2014 Speciale and a 1996 355 GTB for reference.

What do you like better about the 296 than Speciale?

    Anything the Speciale does better?

    Thanks

If my 296 turns out to be reliable, i think i will hold onto it for quite some time. It is simply the best streetcar i have ever owned, driven, tested.

    Gorgeous.
Atelier suggested TRS gold flakes to match gold wheels - everyone I've seen goes silver wheels.

The Speciale is a great car. Sounds it makes from the engine just can’t be matched by newer cars, front end dynamics and the absolutely gorgeous design can’t be matched by newer cars. Also being a NA V8 just makes it “special”.

The 296 is no slouch. It’s faster than the 458 and has better handling dynamics as the super fast steering really works well with the smaller footprint. Honestly the 296 does everything better with the exception of the user interface and the haptics.

I have considered selling the car so don’t have deal with future battery issues, but the car is so damn good that I will just deal with it down the road. Also the 296 is a driver. They are not appreciating so might as well enjoy the crap out of them. It’s a treat driving the car honestly.

Don't worry about battery. Just found out from my dealer that all hybrid just got 4 more years of battery covered for free for total of 7 years!!

My 296 sounds epic (much better than the SF90), drives like a go cart /F1 car, and is ridiculously gorgeous. People follow me home and take photos on the move every time I take it out. NOT SELLING

Still own mine and drive it on a weekly basis, sometimes daily. It's an incredible car and feels very special. If you haven't had a chance to do Corso Pilota with the 296, or taken a 296 on a track, it's not to be missed.

Love mine too. Daily driver and the best all-around car I’ve ever owned. The only thing I caution you about is the hybrid battery. When you go to park it and leave it for several days or longer. Make sure that it’s fully charged when you turn it off, or really close. There’s also a long-term parking option you can select in the menus that you can just leave on. I had a brick issue But it was after leaving the car with a hybrid battery next to empty and on a charger for over 2 1/2 weeks. I am convinced if the hyper battery have been charged it would’ve never happened. Even with a bit of a headache on that, I still absolutely love the car

To post a more full update- I have had my 296 GTB for a little over a year. It has been absolutely phenomenal and does everything. It has done several medium trips of several hundred miles, a few overnight trips, as well as a track day or two. The trunk is large enough to carry several bags, the ride is perfect across all roads. A quick squirt and it goes from mild to wild.
Being regularly driven has avoided most issues, but if it sits for more than a few weeks I get a CEL till it finishes a drive cycle or two. The TPMS sensors have a mind of their own but have been replaced and it is unclear if they are going to cause issues.
The tire life has been good, but I have noticed that the handling seems to be sensitive to tire pressures just like the 360.
The side mirror rattles non stop, but Ferrari says that it is within normal limits, so I have to figure out a solution.

The only real con has been the dealer lowballing me when we looked at trading it in. More worth it to just keep enjoying it.

Wow, that's better than Toyota's hybrid battery warranty.

Same but it's an easy fix.
Remove screws - might need an angled screw driver and put in 5 minute epoxy and then screw them back in. Go to the oldest tech in the shop - they should know.

I think you'd enjoy it. My wife, who's not really a car person, had a blast even on high pressure hot laps. We had an incredible coach who's an active driver in the Italian GP Championship under the GT Cup classification with 2 race victories of 8 last season. It's amazing to have someone like that coaching you directly in the same car that you drive on the road!

If you have the opportunity to check one out this year, I think you'll find it very enjoyable.
