AH, this isnt a great place to start then for a manual swap. You'd need to get hold of a manual torque tube and gearbox. Otherwise, it can be done.

@brogenville , I posted a thread on the 599 612 forum. "599 612 Maserati Granturismo 6 speed pedal box conversion " it shows what I'm try to start with. If you get a chance maybe you might be available to look at it and see what you think, thanks

The F1/MC shift flywheel / clutch / torque tube / transmission / subframe should bolt right into the Granturismo. All parts, except the torque tube are easily gotton from parted out Duoselect Quattroportes. The torque tube is a bit of a problem. They are not easy to shorten, and the QP unit is somewhere around 5 inches (or 125 mm shorter for those not used to the standard measurements) longer than what the GT needs. I have seen used GT torque tubes for sale, and I guess even a new one is not completely out of question, although more expensive alternative.

The torque tube from a Coupe 4200 might be closer to the correct length, although I suspect it's going to be just different enough that it won't work. It will also need the transmission from a 4200 as the torque tube mounting is different between the 4200 and QP. If someone happens to be under a 4200 (Coupe or Spyder) with a tape measure, it would be nice if you could measure the torque tube length. I can get the QP one, and with that, and the QP-GT wheelbase difference should get us the GT drive tube length.

A custom, or perhaps a modified QP torque tube might be an option, but that might be a project in itself. The engine and transmission need a relatively large tube for support. I think the shaft inside is supported by multiple bearings and acts as a cushion for shock loads. Throwing an open type driveshaft inside it might not be a good idea.

If a BMW, or other similar transmission can be bolted to the engine, running a custom made, open driveshaft is easy. Solving the driveshaft issue, by using a difficult to install transmission, might not make sense.

Lots to think about, appreciate all your advice. I will continue with my pedal box for now, if I can't get it work I would be interested in in some of the things we talked about, thanks

I pulled the drive tube from my Duoselect QP. The torque tube length flange to flange is about 1697 mm, or 66-13/16 freedom units.

Good information, thanks. My machinest is back so I dropped off my Ferrari pedal to get machined.

I was able to get the torque tube measurement from an 2009 MC Granturismo. It's 1579 mm, or 62-3/16" long.
The wheelbases are 3064 mm (120.6") for the QP and 2942 mm (115.8") for the GT; so

Wheelbase length difference: 122mm (4.8") difference in wheelbase.
Torque tube length difference:118mm, or 4-5/8" shorter than the QP tube.

There might be some minor tweaking that was done with the drive shaft angles on the GT with the 4mm difference in the wheelbase and torque tube length differences. I would not expect this to be an issue on a street driven car though.
