Everyone seems to think they know whats best for Ferrari design, so lets have a poll. This poll is for you to rate Ferraris current styling. And by 'current' I mean all cars currently in production, including vehicles we have seen but havent been released (such as the F80) The goal here is for you to mentally create a cumulative/average score based on all the above models as obviously you will like some more than others. So if you think half of them are a '10' and half of them are a '1' then vote '5' or '6' Hope that makes sense. This is for fun so dont over think it. Feel free to explain your thinking in the comments but PLEASE vote in the poll first.
I think the last model that I really liked was the 458. The 488 looked a little odd with the huge (to my eye) rear air intakes. Not going into the natural vs. turbo debate, as this is more about design than engineering. But in general, the newer models are just to severe for me. I prefer the older cars that are a bit more curvy and feminine than the sharp, angular over the top stuff we have seen lately. Edit: I have to say I do like some of the features in the 296, including the 250LM reminiscent rear quarters, but the car is really huge. I like to wear my cars rather than get in them. My 430 is the largest car I have ever owned.
Current Ferrari cars that real mortals can buy, per the website. I purposely left our the F80 and Iconas, because they are not really available (all sold out) Image Unavailable, Please Login
this is a good question. i am somewhat attracted to some parts of some of them, but overall i am not bowled over. i can remember yearning, dreaming, scheming for the bbi (so i bought it later in life), the 512tr (so i bought it later in life), the F40 (so i bought it later in life). i think the only car i yearn for these days from ferrari is the sp3. and it has become so expensive so quickly that i will need to make a lot more money in a hurry before i can justify this.
I’m biased as a 458 owner, but I do love the styling of it. I also love the look of a F8 Spider and an SP, but not so crazy about 296 or SF. I don’t know why lol, but that’s how I feel.
Honestly, in the past each model had its own design identity. These days I'll go to a show and I can't tell what most cars are just from walking by casually. That is a huge fail to me.
I am older than dirt, and after a Testarossa, a 550 a 355 and a 360, I skipped the 430 thinking that there wasn't much of a modern design to justify the purchase. Looking back, everything until the 430 had character and looked good. So to be clear I really hate and I mean hate, all the designs after the year 2006. But again, I am just an old man resistant to anything new and always wished that the Pinin went to production.
I'm one of the youngest people on here and I still voted 4. 296 gets and 7, 12c gets a 2, F80 gets a 3, sf90 gets a 6, Roma gets a 7, purosangue gets a 4.
I think the front of the 458 is ugly. There i said it. Rest of the car gorgeous. And it's awesome. But the front lights and mustache were atrocious
296 is huge? First time I've heard that. Sf90 sure. 296 is pretty small especially by today's standards... And is barely barely any larger than your 430.
I adore the rear hatch of the spider, humps and louvers. One of Ferraris best design elements in decades.
I agree. I felt like the 488 front fixed the design flaws in the 458 front. I'm sure that isn't a popular opinion.
Good but not great. There hasn't been a Ferrari design since the 458 that 'knocked me out". 296 and Roma are pretty good. That being said, there hasn't been a Lambo that has knocked me out since the Countach, and no McLaren has ever done that to me, albeit my favorite Mac styling is the F1.
I totally agree. Along the same lines... I feel like the 488 has become much more accepted and better car. It was sort of unloved for a long time and now I think it's seen as a better more solid 458 and more refined developed car. It's almost like Ferraris 911 turbo. It does everything pretty darn well. I like driving 488s more than 458s. I mean the 458 NA V8 is amazing if course and it sounds phenomenal.
@anunakki …(or @GrigioGuy).can you post a picture of each car above? It would make it easier to decide what level I would assign to the models together. …. I know….being lazy …
Last mid engine V8 I really liked is the 488 GTB, I do like the styling of the 296 as it seems to have some design cues from much earlier Ferraris'. The Roma is ok, more of an Aston Martin Design than Ferrari. Overall, I believe the Luca Di Montezemelo and Enzo years of design by Pininfarina were by far the best!

Thank you. I assigned a number from 1-10 for each of the nine models. Design-here are my numbers. SF 90 - 5 SF 90 Spider - 6 296 - 6 296 Spider - 6 12cilindri - 8 …has to be black or dark blue 12cilindri Spider - 9 …ditto Purosangue - 5 …ave for an SUV Roma - 7 …but fix the cheap front grill!! Roma Spider - 8 …ditto Average for the poll….6.66….rounding up - 7
I love the SP1/2, SP3 and 296. If not tens, very close. I think the 12C and F80 would be good looking, but the black trim ruins them. I hope Manzoni moves on from this fixation before another model is launched. I think the Roma coupe is gorgeous. The spider doesn't work quite as well, but I still like it. I wouldn't call the SF90XX beautiful, but I like it. I think the SF90 is OK, but it doesn't wow me. I don't like that the PS exists. I suppose it looks OK for an SUV, but that's a bit like being tasty for a tofu burger.
