I wonder if that means front tyre side panels come off too while the front cover is removed at the service? At least side panels would contain nice handles.:)

I haven’t got yet an answer from Ferrari but I think the only part openable in some ways is the little part close to the windshield over the rac-e system. There is the cut, but for sure that part is fixed by some screws hidden

Car looks fantastic from this angle.

Honestly, I like it from every angle that doesn't show the bizarre black trim at the front. I hope they give owners the option to paint it.

About this point you have to consider to try to read the concept as a real concept and not as a car. If you try to remove the black blade the structure of the nose falls down. This car is born with a black blade. We can consider that it is not perfectly integrated as for the 12cilindri but if you don't change the shape of the headlights and rethink the nose with no blade the car it doesnt' work

I didn’t see it. Or more likely they showed it and I was just looking at the car! If you had to guess, what are the rough dimensions?

But it is a car, not a concept.

If the black trim is an essential part of the design, then I simply dislike the design. I find the black trim contrived and ugly on both cars. I passed on the 12C because of it.

I disagree, however, that it's essential. Renders have circulated of both cars that remove the black trim, and to my eyes, they look infinitely better.

This is subjective, of course. You don't need to agree. But there is no debating that the black trim is divisive. My take is hardly unusual.

I hope Manzoni moves on from this fixation before another car is launched.

Thanks. Seems to not bode well for my preferences. SF90XX doesn't have the blade, SF90 successor has it. 296 VS doesn't have the blade, but the 296 successor..?

It may be a while before there's another new Ferrari in my garage.

Looks great, 100% that was not in the car when I sat in it as the unveiling, I know because I put my hand in the opening to see how large/deep it was. They must have added it later.

This was actually mentioned by Manzoni:

“The miracle happened by staggering the two seats: we saved 50 millimetres in width by reducing the front section”

I presume that anything that improves the muffled sound emitted by the F80 will be greatly welcomed by most future owners.

18 years separate the F80 (2024) and the one-off P4/5 (2006). Looking at the picture below one can see how advanced the design of the P4/5 was. The duct on the hood of the P4/5 whose function is to create down-force resembles the sduct of the F80. The width and height of the F80 (W-2060 mm, H- 1138 mm) and the P4/5 (H- 2042 mm, H-1126 mm) are very similar. However, in terms of length, the F80 (L- 4480 mm) is a lot longer than the P4/5 (L-4630 mm).

In 2011, another version was built, the P4/5 Competizione (picture below). Unlike the P4/5 this car is not officially recognized by Ferrari, and is instead under the ownership of James Glickenhaus' own marque - SCG (Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus). On May 18 2012 the P4/5 Competizione just made history during the 24 Hours of Nürburgring qualifying by setting the fastest lap ever in a Ferrari-powered vehicle, beating the Ferrari 599XX's 6:58.16 with a time of just 6:51.
After ending its racing career the P4/5 Competizione was modified and converted into a fully road legal car.

The Pininfarina P4/5 one off is exceptional, one of the best design revivals ever built: an absolute dream!

Nice post. F80 has definitely inherited several design features from P4/5 Competizione.

P.S. Fixing a minor typo in the post:
    F80 (L- 4480 mm) => 4840 mm

The Ferrari 330 P4 had the bonnet duct. I personally think the P/5 has aged very badly. It just to me looks like another of the lazy design recreations (Mini, Beetle, Fiat 500 etc) that many of the car manufacturers rolled out a lot in that era.

The "hole in the hood" has been around for quite a long time, but I think in the P4/5, like in the original P4, was a radiator exit. In the F80 it only has an aero function, while one of the radiators exit is behind the black band. The need of putting the radiators as close to the corners as possible to allow a wider s-duct dictated some of the most controversial design features, like the squarish front and the "Lego" front wings..
