Hello. I’m now in the market to purchase a 308 or 328 spider. Anyone have one near Baton Rouge, Louisiana that I could sit in to make sure I fit before I spend a lot of time lookin? I’m 6’ 4”. If I can’t fit it one then I’ll look at the 430s. I just want to sit in one for a few minutes and not many for sale even remotely close to me so I’m looking for a non-selling owner that is sorta close. Thanks.

Take it from me and go directly for a 430.

I’m 6’0 and normal and I loved my 328. I also didn’t really fit well which takes away from the enjoyment. Plenty of room in 360 and 430

I'm 6-2 and my son is 6-5. We drive it with the targa top off. I have taken it on 1000-mile drives on Vintage Rallies where we do about 200-300 miles a day. I added a 3" spacer to bring the steering wheel closer to me. I would not want to make it daily driver!

and yes I also had a gts and enjoyed most of the driving with the targa top off… but you will find the seat headrest will end at shoulder / neck connection and the A frame edge around the windshield will likely be 3” from your forehead. So headroom, yeah, but you will be dead in an accident even minor one…

Tom Selleck is 6’4” but I heard they modify the seat to make him fit and look normal

Oh wow. Death in a minor accident doesn’t sound good.

Corbeau has some 308/328 seat brackets. Have contacted them regarding thinnest seat possible. Will post their response.

I think the question has been answered, but I'll chime in. At 5'10"/165, my 308 GTB is cozy, and getting in and out is awkward. Something that hasn't been mentioned is the pedal box - it's tight down there, too.

I am 6’4” and fit perfectly fine and am very comfortable in the car. There are a few tricks that will help. Seat all of the way back and reclined, the wheel is also adjustable so you can move it up and down, I have mine almost as high as it will go, I have also installed a eccentric steering wheel hub adapter that raises the steering wheel to provide more leg room, this part was a game changer to make more room for your legs. Lastly, you need to wear driving shoes as the pedals are close together. Only way for you to be 100% sure is the drive one yourself and see how you fit. The adjustments that I described will certainly make you more comfortable.

But the seat being all the way back means you can’t store the top behind the seats correct?

Thanks for all the tips too.

    I have a 86 328 GTB, I'm 5'9 and broad, I fit but tight.
My 6'8 friend fits with the seat almost pushed back with the upper part fully reclined, only problem is knees block the use of the indicators and wiper stalk without a few yoga moves.
He does not fit in an ABS 88 GTS 328 (Less height floor to roof) with the roof on or stored behind the seat, he felt embarrassed driving the car sitting so high and his vision was obscured by the windscreen frame.
Also he needed to ware narrow shoes due to his large feet.

I think you're on the right track to try and find one you can sit in. I'm in Texas otherwise I'd say come on by.

I'm 6'1" and I fit. Would I say "comfortable" ? Ummm... it's not UNcomfortable, but it's a tight fit. My head pokes slightly above the windshield (Sellck's head did too if you watch the show) but not enough that say my hat flies off or any crazyness.

With the top on I fit, but again it's tight... I wouldn't want to hit a huge bump with the top on LOL.

The seats (stock) only go so far back and even in the farthest setting you can store the top easily. I don't know that you would even want them too much farther away since your feet might not reach the pedals.

I have a 12.5" foot that is wide (I have to use EE size shoes). I've heard and read comments about having to drive without shoes... having to drive with driving shoes, etc. I drive with my normal shoes just fine. Again it's cramped... but no issues with normal shoes for me.

I think people's opinion vary on what is comfortable, necessary etc. which is why I think you definitely should see if you can sit in one and perhaps drive one around the block or something.

I don't ever want to get rid of this car... even though it is sometimes a love-hate relationship when it comes to buying Ferrari parts... but I love it and every time I drive it... it's just damn glorious.

Forgot to say I have an '82 GTSi so dimensions might vary? i have no idea.

Appreciate the post, information, and personal experiences. Glad to hear even with the seat all the way back you can fit the top. Thank you sir.

Sitting in one is the only way you will know if YOU fit. The previous owner of my '89 328 was 6' 4"+ and he drove it regularly. The distribution of the height in your body - legs/vs trunk - will determine whether you fit or not. Have the top in place and get in! Hopefully, you'll be able to get back out! :)

Daily driver? Mine was for 8 years and did all the usual "daily" chores, including hauling some 8ft 2x4's from Home Depot, carrying Christmas trees...etc. ;)

6 4 will be tough but possible. A lot depends on your build. But for sure you would feel tight. Most likely your shins will hit under the dash.

IMO, I would look for a 360 manual over the F430 -- and I really like the F430. But with so few manual F430's the 360 manual would be a better replacement for a 328.

The cost however is quite a bit more than a 308/328.

Thanks for the advice. I have been looking at the 360 manuals if a 308/328 is not possible for my build.

I am 5'8. I don't have the seat all the way back in my 328. But I would think to have the same level of comfort for a taller person that might max out at about 6 1.

My mechanic is 6-4 and he can drive it with the top off. But I don't think he would call it "comfortable". So the answer is yes you can fit, but at what price.

I wil say this my son if 6’2 - 6’3” have check lately and he can drive with the top on, even with the the top off he is leaning to the side. I don’t modify the seat for him like Tom Selleck.
My son does use the car but after a while he is done not comfortable for him, he did fit the f355 ok a lot better then my 308 gtsi

as for me I am 5’7” and fit great
