As spring weather starts warming, and as my F12 was sitting on the charger (indicating FULL), it was time to try to start the Ferrari.

Unfortunately, it’s reading low battery on the dash, despite having been constantly on the charger.

When I owned a McLaren, you had to plug in the CTEK charger while the car was running before shutting it off. Otherwise, the car would not charge, despite being plugged in. That’s not the case with any Aston or Porsche I’ve owned, however.

I’m wondering if I missed something with the F12?

How old is the battery? On my 2016 Cali T, I arrived at a similar circumstance which led to my being reminded my battery was over 4 years old. Battery replacement solved it for me.

The car does not need to be running to hook it up before shutting it off. Check to verify the CTEK is working properly, your battery condition, alternator, and grounds. F12's are not nice to batteries. If you get a new battery, open your hood after drives to let the heat dissipate from the battery.

That may be the culprit. It was the original battery.
