I’m looking to buy a 400, auto. Can I still be able to get it for under 45k from a dealer
Hi, I suppose you might be able to find one for 45k$ at a dealer's, but I very much doubt that it would be a "nice" example. Also, at that price point you wouldn't get a warranty etc., things you'd expect from a dealer. Cheers Esben
At that price look for a private sale. From a "dealer" it will likely be $65K; there are several on-line at about that price or a bit higher. In either case plan on a lot of TLC or just plain work to maintain. I did my own maintenance for 16 years. Ken
Not so many dealers do know these cars, better to buy a car that was recently serviced by a reputable mechanic. These are more complex than a Daytona, so almost as expensive to service. Any dealer that knows his job will factor this when offering a guarantee... If I were in the market for a 400, I would look for a clean 400i gen1 with auto transmission. That's probably one of the cheapest to own: no electric gremlins , reliable injection, easy to service transmission, better timing, better cooling. Check for rust, self levelers, timing chain and valve shim service, k-jet service, exhaust condition, tires condition, transmission torque converter. The rest can be tweaked by a regular mechanic.
Hi, I have a very nice 1984 400i black with tan interior, immaculately clean, perfect black paint (smooth as glass) flawless body. Was going to submit to bring a trailer within the next week or so. If you are interested, shoot me a quick email. I can get you video or photos of the car which is sitting in my garage! [email protected] It runs perfect (automatic) has 44,000 miles, engine so clean you can eat off of it, bottom of the car looks basically brand new, was just 40 hour detailed underneath. As well as engine. Shoot me your contact information and if you're still hunting for a car, this may be the one!
A few photos. Please don't answer me back on Ferrari chat... check out my email address right above this message... if you need/want to contact me about my car. ;o0) I just don't visit Ferrari chat that often, so your reply to me might look like it's being ignored.
