Bosch Fuel Injector Issue

As the filter is before the pump, the risk is to starve the pump (presumably) under high load.

There are however some of these earl filters with barbs, the question is why use a filter with dash fittings and machine some barbs fittings? Maybe these later filters do provide more flow?

 

I will see if I can get a picture. I have used this set up many times and have never hurt a pump. I have had the cars start to run poorly because the filter is clogged but it doesn't hurt the pump. Just clean it and go on. As for the -8 size, the factory hose is 5/8 inch. The Earl's barb filters are 3/8. I just make my own 5/8 barb. As for fuel injection application, it technically does not apply to this situation as the filter is before the pump and only has gravity for pressure so the barb and clamp is fine. I like the one with the sintered bronze filter as it stops a lot of trash. They sell an 85 micron filter but it is just a flat mess screen they will stop small animals but not the small stuff that makes CIS run bad. I have also found no loss of pressure or high speed starvation issues with these filters.
