Indycar needs a new engine manufacturer or two. and a new chassis to replace the current vintage race car
IndyCar is closer to pure spec than just about anything but formula ford.. Come to think of it, ff has…or had…a lot of different chassis manufacturers.
Yes, but you or I cannot invent a chassis, nor can we have one built to spec - we have to buy one of the two 'approved' ones. Motors are basically sealed. All you can do is adjust aero - and you are limited in that area, too. I'd be happy as hell if we went back to the CART cars of 1984-1999... At lease we had Penskes, Lolas, Marchs, Reynards, Swifts...
This will be tough day for me. My wife decided to throw a race party for 30. It will difficult to deal with everyone talking at the same time. But I need to get over the Auditory Overload issue.
Best to you and your recovery. You got it! This race was a favorite of mine back when the weekend was shared with IMSA. Weather was always good, the cleanest portajohns were still ziptied shut (nothing side cuts didn't fix...).. it's a good circuit layout. sjd
With the switch in channels, needed a whole new DVR programming set. And they're confusing the issue: Indy NTT and Indy NXT. (NXT used to be called "Indy Lights".) Just saw the NXT race. How is it a feeder series without pit stops, which are so crucial in Indycar? And the schedule doesn't separate pre-race from the race. Seems coverage starts at 12ET, but the race starts at 12:30ET. Waiting to see if they do PIP ads or just break the "live" coverage.
Except for the last stops, when they missed a few during commercials. (Including the critical stop by #10.)
Much as I should be rooting for the Tennessean, I'm not a big fan of Penske, so I'm happy to see a Ganassi pass a Penske.
Indycar is maybe better for being "basically a full-on spec series", thus avoiding the technology war we constantly see in F1.
