This should be normal, very well done by him to show the way to the misguided never drive, always tinker, concours crowd.

I remember shooting a yellow F50 for Cavallino magazine when F50's came out, cover and article.

All other magazines in the world showed a red F50 roof off on their covers, I wanted a yellow one, roof on so it was very satisfying to manage that:)

Very nice indeed to see a GT car being used for what they were all designed & made for.

While none of my dozen+ across US drives in vintage cars ever involved any multi-million dollar GT examples, this "in 2 days" reference reminded me of one I did with a 25 y.o. car I had bought for $200.- a week earlier from a guy living in a small travel trailer behind a gas station, but my drive "in 2 days" was more than twice the distance, i.e. from Los Angeles to Baltimore, +/-2700 miles, back when national highway speed limit was still 55 MPH.

I get it. I really do, but 1300 miles? In Texas, that is a daily commute.

Sadly it’s also the mileage many owners put on their F50 in a decade (if not longer). I’m thrilled just to see people getting out and actually driving their cars.

the farthest crazy road trip like this i have done is from Bob Houghton's in Cheltenham to Geneva in one day in the F40. but that's only about 700 miles. (i couldnt walk the next day but never mind :) )

(altho i have also driven from geneva to budapest in one day, which is about 800 miles, but that was in a big cushy S class :) )

Didn't mean to be an ass. It's great when any Ferrari gets driven. They are cars. Word is a F50 is not a comfortable car to drive, so this guy (and his wife) get extra kudos.

I kept thinking as I watched whether they were stiff and sore after riding that far in an F50, although I have no personal experience in one and am mostly just assuming it can't be super comfortable for long drives.

I can almost hear the words "To be young again" being uttered. I can't imagine it's worse than an F40 on the highway or poorly paved streets. The self-adjusting Euro front ride height is chef's kiss. But I'm comparing a memory of being 25 years old to what it would be like now for several hours without a stretch break.

Awesome to see their F50 get used. One can only hope the other cars get similar treatment and see open road for long stretches like this. Gives you time to appreciate the little things, quirks, or the whole package in a more intimate way.

During the first year of COVID driving home to see family for Thanksgiving I'll never forget my dad texting me, "NO CANNONBALL RUN." "R U driving little red out?"

Of course dad, I'll be safe. One of the best road trips of my life.
