Yes, really. After 5 days of promising it would be delivered that afternoon they have NO idea where it is ad driver and sub-contracted shipping company have gone silent.

They finally just admitted to that after my getting increasingly assertive on demanding a status.

Needless to say I'd recommend arranging other shipping options than Montway.

(fortunately it is insured and "only" a Boxster S, but don't want anyone else here to be at risk of the same thing happening).

Sorry to hear.. Always airtag your cars during transit. mail a tag to your dealer or seller before transport picks it up. Montway is also garbage as they are a budget broker putting your car into anyone offering a spot on a truck. I would never use them personally. Plenty of other good brokers out there or owner operators.

There are plenty of threads and YouTubes right now about the scams and thefts going on through car delivery brokerages. They are use to the cops and even insurance not pushing it too much, if it does get pushed and the heat too high the car will mysteriously reappear. Either way no one ever gets prosecuted.

I will only use a company with their own trucks.

You have no idea who is hauling your car using a broker!

Just received my car having been transported by Reliable transport-very satisfied. Had a Citroen SM delivered via Montway last year and less than satisfied

I've always used Plycar. They send you a link that lets you track the car in real time anytime you want.

Once when I had my car transported, I missed my flight. So I asked the driver if I could sit in the cab with him. He said no, he didn't have enough room, but why don't I just sit in my car.

He got stopped for speeding, with both got tickets! :D

    (apologies to Steven Wright)

Hi folks - wanted to follow-up on this. The good news is that the Boxster arrived yesterday afternoon with zero prior notice. Out of nowhere a giant car auto transport showed up - and THEN they called to say they've be there soon.

The car was in the elements for 15 days and was caked with road salt. The car spent 14 days going back forth across the country because the ramp system broke and rather than fixing it they kept picking up and dropping off other cars since mine was stuck on the very front position. Turns out Bring A Trailer seller lied about the condition of the car (maybe more on that later).

Bad news - when they tried to offload the Boxster a high pressure hydraulic line blew and they sprayed my neighbors driveway, sidewalk, and custom masonry with hydraulic fluid. Rather than tell me that happened they waited awhile and kept trying to offload the car rather than immediately trying to remove the fluid so all of those surfaces are now stained and damaged. I spent a couple hours trying to scrub with a mild detergent what I couldn't soak up but it was too late. My neighbors are being unbelievably nice about what happened but I feel awful about what happened to their property (and of course have promised to make it right).

I didn't think it could get worse from the first post, but apparently did. It would have been better the car never showed up as crazy that would have sounded yesterday. There was someone here on Fchat in FL selling their SL600 they bought on BaT and said it had a lot more problems than advertised and said BaT is a place to sell and not buy...seems to be the case. Hopefully things get better from here for you...

Wow, the whole experience sucks. As far as the damage to your neighbor's property, you might try calling a professional cleaning company. They will have better methods and equipment than what you can do on your own.

I was thinking Montway should be paying for the cleanup - possibly by the neighbor's (or the OP's) homeowner's insurance going after them.

That company needs to clean up, or neighbor should sue them. Not your fault.

A carrier is never going to pay for that.

The amount of headache for that kind of money isn't worth it honestly

My single anecdotal experience has been hydraulic fluid spilled on sun-exposed outside stonework slowly disappeared on its own leaving no long term evidence.

Agreed and almost nothing you can do to get it up. Or at least I haven't found anything that gets it out. The more abrasive you are to try to get it out the more damage you do to the concrete... And well that never goes away

Hi folks, thanks for all of the reply's and discussion.

Ironically yes, it would have been better if the darn car never showed up. Ha. Bad for Hagerty, but would have certainly better for my neighbors and my wallet.

After some public shaming (basically just telling the truth about the car's actual condition) the seller dealer has agreed to pay for the AC, ignition switch and headlight issues. That won't make it right, but close enough to be acceptable (even though I'm still not getting what they advertised/promised).

Appreciate the product and cleaning suggestions, thank you.

I've hired a professional hardscape company to do a professional attempt at removing the staining and then, if needed, to refinish the walkway. That will be out of my pocket since I can't get the neighbor any more caught up in the and I just need to get them taken care of. I'll try collecting from Montway and the actually subcontractor but I'm not going to hold my breath.

    Bonkers, eh?

Thanks for posting that. I have a driveway of pavers and occasionally have to remove an oil spot. I've used this liquid spray, but it does require several applications of elbow work with a stiff brush. I'll give that a try next time.

However, I think Tom would need several 55 gallon drums of that stuff to clean that spill! :D

"Pull it out" will remove the stains, i guarantee it. It's incredible stuff. I've used it on concrete and pavers for years. Truly incredible stuff. Pour on, let it harden, sweep away. repeat if necessary. Image Unavailable, Please Login
