It is the most iconic supercar that takes these to drive at the limit. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
yea, that one is fugly. i dont understand the thought process there at all. ok, so you dont want red...there are so many colors that compliment the car....mint green is not one of them
I respect anyone that doesn't care about devaluing or others opinions and paints their car exactly to their taste!
In this case it was the selling dealer (Schaltkulisse) who commissioned the repaint, from what I have heard. Sterling Moss' color of Verde Pallido, so it's some form of a tribute.
As you can see in the definitive F40 market analysis thread https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/ferrari-f40-market-analysis.673775/ the averages haven't changed for a few years now, what exactly is the basis of your renewed optimism, or is this purely wishful thinking? Minty is apparently a homage to 250 GTO chassis nº 3505, I agree with you, impeccable taste it is not.
i wonder how much the f80 release will support f40 prices. i think the f50, enzo, and Laf have all now got more support than prior because they run v12's. but whether or not this trickles down to the f40 is to be seen i guess. fwiw, you can buy all of those for the same price as the allocation price for the f80, or the very finest f40 for probably half that....
I don't think there will be any direct connection between them in terms of market value. I think only the prices of the LaFerrari will get stronger because of the F80.
Don't like batteries, I think this could make the others appreciate even more so. But maybe I'm a dinosaur...fossil fuel after all.
i understand that this car recently sold for $2.4. 1991 Ferrari F40 https://www.specialtycarcollection.com/vehicle-details/1991-ferrari-f40-coupe-3fd10173782c4a37846c8a52f384c9b6 i believe i remember this car from a previous sale at Amelia in 2023, where it was described as being a +3 car, and it has now sold for more....which to me indicates that the mkt is rising.... or am i missing something?
Joe just sold this car; I believe I saw that he posted a sale price of $2.4 somewhere... IIRC, Specialty had this car listed since early last year... Not sure if that's indicative of a hot (or rising) market... More just finding the right ass for the seat.
it was sold by RM Sotheby's at Amelia island in 2023 at $1.875 mil with 45388 km on the clock. so it did another couple hundred miles, sat around for 20 months, and then made another half a million $. so the price rose over time..... ie the definition of a rising market.
How could the F40 value/price not rise. I would say that it has been held back. I see it as soon being vaulted into the “unobtainium” category not too long from now.
Isn’t it the last great car Enzo “touched”? The last great ‘raw’ what I would call “real” Ferrari experience for drivers that will surly bite you if you are even slightly stupid? Isn’t it beautiful, aggressive, purposeful? Doesn’t the AC blow ice cold? Funny because it is the best AC we have….I have euro seats I need to install. What 6 point harness would you recommend? Just took that sitting here now.
Hmm, this sounds like talking up the market with no real basis for doing so. Any toy that has doubled in value 4 times in a row can certainly halve in value just as well as keep going up. I hope for all owners of the beautiful and iconic F40 that it keeps going up for ever, but based on history that will probably not be the case.
Juan, that went totally over my head. If you will notice, I didn’t really use the usual language in my post.. explain
I agree with your comments except for talking up the market. I wish they were a million bucks. I’d have one already. They are poised for a durable jump. That is my opinion. I’m sure I’m not alone. And it does as you say, settles down. I don’t know what it’s going to do interms of value. But sooner or later, one day, it will launch. A lot of firsts in that package along with all the other things about F40 that we talk about thanks… pass the ammo
I use Sabelt in mine, give them a try. AC not as bad as the old ones but still sucks Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh wow. Is that the same F40 that was at the Mt. Dora Festival of Exotic Cars like 25 years ago in FL? I remember seeing it there in the rain across from Gerd Petriks' F50 that had the soft top up...he had his 911 GT1 and CLK GTR there, too. Wheels look identical.
Looks beautiful, googled the chassis number and this came up, says 7 previous owners and “special features” but not sure what. https://radical-mag.com/en/2025/02/15/ferrari-f40-86620-2/
