I wonder what the cars today would have looked like if the FIA hadn't gotten involved with their natural evolution. No hybrids unless some team wanted to experiment with it on their own. Keep the 2004 size restrictions, let the designers play with weight and engines as they chose. No mandatory pit stops, Alternate tire suppliers every two years...Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgstone, somone new. Etc.

Sadly, I think the 2025 season will be about anything and everything but auto racing. Click bait, stock values, promo swag, driver/team soap operas, FIA vs F1 politics, penalties (profanitity and others), Martin Brundil and Danika Patrick have love child, etc.

Probably would have stayed with V10s and kept the 600Kg weight and 13" wheels--there was no need to change the formula.

Hybrids are slower to accelerate, harder on tires, and never look alive while being thrashed within an inch of their lives.

The lesson (IMO) of 2024 is that the best teams with the best cars and the best drivers can still be humbled by lady luck riding a Black Swan.
