Thank you very much for these. They are awesome photos. Will you be at COTA? Can you please connect with my son @keawntandon instagram
Not my lap times but I thought this was worth mentioning. Chevrolet just revealed some lap times for the new C8 ZR1 and they are blistering fast. Also worth noting is that the guys that posted these times are not race drivers. They are engineers with racing licenses. Watkins Glen is my home track so a time of 1:52 is of particular significance to me. I was never able to get lower than a 1:58 in my 991.2 GT3 with Hoosier R7’s or in my highly modified C6 ZO6. I would bet the ZR1 could dip into the high 1:40’s with track tires. Not something I would want to attempt without a full cage but very cool nonetheless. This time is consistent with factory Porsche Cup Cars on full slicks.
Crazy fast, insane! I wouldn’t drive any street car that fast at WGI. A 1:58 is a superb lap time, and I’ve seen first hand the 991.2 is capable of it in the hands of a skilled driver. I had my 992 Cup at The Glen last year, my first time in that car, no 1:40s for me, lol.
Thank you!! Really appreciate it, yes will keep you all posted on his progress. He is supposed to race Sebring next week!! Fingers crossed
Track day at the Circuit du Val de Vienne yesterday - I established my own lap record on this track (by a very small margin). This track is used by the French "Sport Auto" magazine for its tests, so they have a scoreboard that puts my time on par with the Honda Civic Type R and the VW Golf R 20 years edition Of course their times are established with exclusive access to the track and - more importantly - by a professional driver (Christophe Tinseau, who btw was the organiser of yesterday's event). The recorded 253 kph (on the second best lap) was reported as 263 kph by the trip computer. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Still bumpy, no paddock paving. Actually the straight is ok, it's bumpy turn one at triple digit speeds that gets your attention. Then you have a significant hump after getting up the hill from turn 2. All in all, if the apex area at turn one was repaved, the track wouldn't be too bad.
That’s a $2MM hypercar (hybrid). I have the poor man’s version, a Radical SR3 XXR, perfect for The Motor Enclave in Tampa. Downforce on these cars is sick. Image Unavailable, Please Login
