Ferrari F80

As I had already predicted that would happen after the German elections, this is just the beginning and it is great news for the future of the ICE. After a long weekend in a London summit European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has announced she will propose a more relaxed three-year timeframe for the automotive industry to comply with the bloc's CO2 standards, instead of annual targets. She also said "We will prepare to accelerate work on the 2035 review, with full technological neutrality as a fundamental principle,"

While this apparently has nothing to do with the F80, it will certainly dictate the type of powertrain its successor will have.

Sitting on a plane on the apron in Milan, returning from our TM appointment for F80. Surprisingly, we didn’t do red! They had an F80 in the foyer, the first time I had seen it since the launch. It is beautiful. Much better than any pictures - even though these New York pictures look great. The surfaces looked beautiful in Giallo Tri Strato.

Happy to hear you had a memorable experience! Did they mention anything about the possibility of a painted roof?

 

You can definitely have a black roof so I guess other colours are also possible. Exposed carbon is standard so I thought “let’s go with that then!”

Alessandro Pier Guidi and Nicklas Nielsen took F80 for drive arround Fiorano

 

Still looks like a hot 720s to me, they didn’t push the envelope enough from a design perspective. It’s a McLaren so it will perform like a rocket powered scalpel of course.

 

Everything feels old in this car, there is nothing groundbreaking in either design, powertrain or esthetics.

 

I like it, it's maybe not more attactive but more "correct" than the F80, although it could be a 750 sucessor. It definitely doesn't look like 3 millions.

 

I'd love to see a raw footage of this video. Way too much post prod work on this. Not even sure the sound is genuine.

Not sure if I understood correctly, but I think the dip in the central part of the black visor is there to strenghten the visor while also providing Gurney flap.
