    Hi

    1988 Testarossa
Am rebuilding brake calipers , need seals , maybe pistons , hoses, pads etc.

Any recommendations for a supplier in Europe eg Italy , Germany etc ,aside from those in the UK ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

It’s his schtick. He’s 100% consistent though. He just wants to know who he’s talking to. It usually elicits a proper introduction too, so kudos to him.

    Hi!

The brake calipers, at least on earlier models, are ATE - pistons and seals etc. are also used on BMWs and such.
I bought the bits for my 400 on amazon.de!

    Cheers

This company has seals, pistons etc at good prices, thanks.
A little confusion over brake hoses, Brakestore dont have them listed ,but on enquiry say they suggest 367mm for both front & rear.
Old hoses overall length are approx 415mm front, 375mm rear.
Mocking it up, 367mm might be ok, but dont want them stretched or catching in anything !
They are basic looking, M10x1mm female at both ends, likely common to other cars ?

A&W, I took a couple of pics of my original front and rear brake hoses from my 1986 Testarossa (USA model) that I replaced with UK Goodridge hoses. 375mm length on all four hoses with all female ends seems okay on my original '86 hoses stretching them out against a ruler. Even UK Goodridge catalogs were not accurate for mine and I needed to reorder them to my specific measurements and fittings at my cost. They came too short and with one male end and one female end. Are you replacing "original" hoses on your car or are you replacing "aftermarket" hoses. That may be some of the confusion in lengths. And possibly my '86 USA TR is different from your '88. EDoug

    Excellent post , thanks !

It is interesting to note the 375mm & that all originals were of that length. My old rears are 375mm.

It is a bit disappointing to read of your Goodridge experience. The TR is not particularly rare , so one would think that their hose information would be accurate.

My old hoses are rubber of the same type as yours & they are nothing fancy as far as brake hoses go. Car is a Euro 88.

As another poster has mentioned, I have seen companies advertising 330mm hoses ( I am pretty sure that a hose length is the overall length including the metal ends )
From a bit of inspection, I cant see 330mm working without the hose being stretched or catching on something when on full steering lock or with suspension movement.

A&W, one way to know for sure if all front and rear hoses on your Euro '88 should be the same length is to remove a front hose and use a 375mm rear hose in its place to confirm if that is a proper original fit on the front or not. Just a thought as you will have one available. Don't forget that if you are splitting the calipers apart you will also need o-rings. EDoug
