Hello, A couple friends and I are prepping an '83 QV coupe for paint. We're removing trim and have a question. How to remove the long trim strip that's on the base of the rear buttress. The trim in question goes from the base of the B-pillar under the 1/4 window, to the rearmost end of the buttress. Can anyone help explain how to remove that piece? It seems to pull forward a 1/2" or so, but from that point won't budge. There are slots in the trim and plastic clips to secure it below the 1/4 window. Should it pull further forward, then out? Many thanks in advance! Dan J.
This is from the parts manual for my 3.2, but it may be the same for your car. Which part are you asking about? Alden Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dan, there are 2 (probably M3) nuts accessible from the inside of the rear buttress via the wheelarch that need to be loosened (no need to remove completely). Then the trim can be moved forward and out. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Afterburner is correct, part numbers 46, 47 and 48 are the bolts, nuts and washers accessible from inside the panel. Alden
