He got banned now. Im a sponsor here on Fchat with carbonseats.com, we will use the same suppliers that made the OEM mirrors to make identical CS mirrors. Just give me some days I will make thread with information
If someone is actually able to produce carbon mirror or seat replicas for a fair price compared to OEM I would be very interested
Our solution is the same suppliers with the same molds for the OEM, the company that made those was Plyform
We don't want to label him as a scammer at this time. Although there was a report from a concerned user about this user's recent ads being scams, his ban had more to do with his sales activities, which went well beyond what the site intends as a DIY accommodation. In general, we support enthusiasts crafting solutions to keeping our cars running and encourage their sharing with the community in the discussion forums. Our general policy is that a project that is developed and shown off in the discussion areas can then be sold to others by the simple process of subcribing for $15 to gain ad privileges and posting group buys or small production runs for sale. However, this user didn't really offer any of his own solutions, but was acting as a broker or group buy coordinator for various manufacturers. That's also OK if done infrequently, but not as a sustained business model, which was where this user was going with his multiple ads and multiple discussion forum threads about the ads. We did note that his business model was not user-friendly. Requiring 50 orders, with a 50% down payment and 50% full payment prior to shipping for a $5,000 product, meant that users would collectively be at risk for $125,000 to $250,000 before any user ever saw a mirror or seat. Further, requiring 50 orders to start the run seemed a high hurdle to achieve, even on this site. Net, he put comparatively little effort into finding a manufacturer (versus the work of developing a DIY solution and doing small production runs, like fuseboards, etc) while collecting up to 6-figures in deposits. Consequently, there was a high risk of this user disappearing with everyone's funds, which made us feel it wasn't a good business model. Someone who starts a legitimate distribution business operates with his own capital on the line, while his model put all the risk on the buyer. So, he was banned to stop his promotional activity and told to contact the site admin for a discussion about his intentions. We intended to discuss his business and his capacity to operate this kind of business. Rather than contacting us, he tried to create multiple accounts to regain access to the site, which were promptly banned. So at this time, his actions have led us to believe he is not a reliable user.
foldable replicas "These mirrors are modeled with all the attachment points and wiring channels like the original mirrors. The left mirror has a hole for the sensor on the bottom. Take the glass support mechanism and wiring from your original 360 modena mirrors and place them inside these shells." https://rossoinnovazione.com/kit-ferrari-360-challenge-stradale/
I purchased some of these so will share my experience. It felt quite sketchy as I had to send the money to Poland even though the seller is in Italy, and no invoice or receipt, just some details over WhatsApp… But they arrived as he said they will, and overall the quality is good and he is pleasant to deal with. The shape of the mirrors is correct, the OEM mirror mount and wiring goes straight in with no modifications and they fold - all good in that regard. I’m am 99% sure these are made with very high quality moulds - maybe the original moulds. All the details are there. I had them skinned in real carbon fibre so once they were bolted to the car they are virtually indistinguishable from the real deal. I’ve added a pic. The bad side is they are expensive and heavy. All in, with customs charges, carbon skinning etc they cost me something like £3k gbp. The weight of the GRP body is not really suitable for the hinge mechanism, the screws are small so I had little confidence long term in them as-is (consider the same issue exists with the OEM ones which are super lightweight). I do think that with some creative engineering you could make them rock solid. Considering there are no other options under £10k gpb I tried it. I have since purchased some genuine items so will be selling these one day. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I also found rossoinnovazione and Donato in my search for mirrors but I ended up not purchasing after seeing the price and shipping he wanted just for the fiberglass so I decided against it. I said in the previous mirror tried that someone with experience could probably purchase a set of his mirrors and maybe use them to pattern a mild off of.
$2k price? No if I remember correctly it would be closer to double that canadian all said and done but I don't remember the exact price. I believe at the time he also had an eBay add for his fiberglass mirrors but it was over $5000 I think.
Here you can see our post talking about these mirrors in the previous thread. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/149403419/
Other Italian sellers have them at 2k eur and based on what @FerrariMO wrote, they're probably around the same.
I just sent my OEM CS mirrors to the suppliers, they will tare them apart and make all the small parts. All the OE suppliers, give me some days I will make some thread soon when the product is in production
I made contact and told him I had 3D scans of the mirrors . He was quick to offer me a RHD set for free if I sent him the scans . I sent him a scan of the LHS mount and RHS mirror and have not heard a thing since . Its a pity , as having someone replicate these will be a great asset . I have looked at it , its a big job to do correctly . Senshi458 looking forward to seeing your progress
