F8 Exhaust Novitec?

Correct as I have the same set up from day one. It is quiet in auto mode with low rpm’s as you come and go from the neighborhood. I went with SS. No drone.

On a related side note, I went with the R1 Motorsport cat back sport exhaust on the 992 GT3RS.

 

Has anyone gone for the inconel version? I’ve ordered it, but delivery might go past the date of the tour I’ve booked onto. I can get stainless steel version well before the tour, so should I switch my order? Or will I regret missing out on inconel for the sake of one week long tour?

 

I have an inconel Novitec exhaust and 250 capristo cats going on my F8 Spider in 2 weeks. Can’t wait. I had a pista spider for about a year that I absolutely loved but the more civilized F8 is a bit more my speed I think. I’m really loving it. Sound def needs serious work though. Hope it turns out ok. I’ve heard the f8 can be a bit tricker to replace exhaust and cats.

 

Inconel is always better.

 

What aspect specifically? I know it’s lighter. Do you think it sounds better?

 

That’s the set up I’m going for. Valved system?
I’ve only driven the Pista on track where it was fantastic.
But the F8 is almost surreal on the road, so smooth and yet connected, and the steering and handling are truly otherworldly. It was hilariously sideways yet controllable on a wet track day, but comfortable and reassuring on a wet bumpy British B road.

 

Yes valved. I’m not trying to be obnoxious and like the ability to be respectful when necessary.

I have a house 90 min outside of LA in the mountains. It’s a 45 min 2 lane drive up the mountain and the view is spectacular. 2 lanes really lets you open these cars up. As much as I loved driving the Pista up and down, the F8 is on another level given the balance. Smooth and tame when driving highway or city miles and a beast when you want to open it up.

 

Having driven every modern regular production Ferrari, I truly believe they reached their pinnacle with the F8, exhaust noise aside.
What made you choose inconel? I’ve always gone for Akrapovic titanium for my other cars, but from the video clips I think Novitec capture that Ferrari wail without being overly open.

 

Faider you are correct about the F8. It's a beast when you want it. Can't wait for your comments/video of the exhaust system. New car/New Exhaust !!! Doesn't get any better than that.

 

F8 is a classic for sure!

 

Anyone heard both stainless steel and Inconel on an F8? I have Inconel on GT3 but they didn't offer a stainless steel option.

in general I think stainless is smoother and less raspy but does it cut down on the high rpm Ferrari wail? I don't really care about the 2-3lb weight savings.

 

Hey - congrats on the F8 - I'm sure you'll love it. And yes, the F8 & GT3 Touring are an awesome pair - silver would've been my next choice (on both cars)!

YEs, I just have the Novitec valveless exhaust on my F8. Stock cats. No issues in 4 years and 10,000km. I have the Stainless version and love how it sounds. I get tempted to do the cats sometimes for a bit more volume but it's pretty damn good as-is. High pitch wail and pretty loud in the higher revs and pretty quiet in the low revs when you want.

 

Put on some headphones and crank up the volume for an immersive experience...

And TBH, my friend had a great hookup on an lnconel exhaust and so I grabbed it. I was happy with either. Watched a lot of videos and both sound great.

They picked up my f8s yesterday for a trade in, drove it one last time before they did and I was really happy with the sound. Novitec exhaust with 200 cell cats. It was just loud enough for me without being obnoxious, going to miss both the car and the sound.

wow you got that sound with OEM cats? Uh oh now I’m worried maybe the cats are overkill.
