Hello all. I just purchased a 2016 488GTB (previously had a 458) and of course some buttons are getting sticky. The worst are the center R and Auto buttons so I would like to get all three of those center buttons refinished ASAP. On the 458 it was very easy to remove them. On the 488 I can't figure out how to get them out. Any help would be appreciated (pics or vids would help). Thanks!

Ferrari hadn't resolved the sticky button issue by 2016?

2016 488 GTB being shipped to me soon to add to the collection. I'm sure Ferrari won't make the sticky buttons perfect during their detail of the vehicle before shipping. Also interested in this as I'll need to rehab mine too.

Welcome to the family in advance!

Did you ask them to address the sticky trim prior to delivery?
I ask, as we've had a new owner ask us NOT to , that the new owner would do it themselves.

I did ask. It would have been at an additional cost. Will tackle it on my own as it comes. My Lamborghini Huracan and Corvette Z06 are the same age or older and do not have sticky buttons, so this is new to me, but I wanted a Ferrari to add to the stable badly.

I think this is an absolute joke that this sticky button issue has been going. on since what…….the 348? One of the greatest car companies in the world and “ sticky buttons” is a 25 plus year issue.

The only actual solution is using someone like SNM or Srx. I used one of those two for my 458. Ferrari will just replace them with original equipment, so the problem will eventually appeared again. Never got around to fixing the peeling dash though…

I replaced every single button in my car. Everything. Seat controls, gas, steering wheel, reverse, etc.

Did you replace the surround for the child seat anchor? That gets sticky too.

That’s my least favorite piece in the car because the seat also doesn’t stop going back and can go into it. But to answer your question, it was already sticky when the work was beginning so it wasn’t going to be a surprise.

I see you also do corrective services on some exterior grates. Have you ever considered a service to make the rear grate on the LP610-4 Huracan fresh again? It gets these white water spots that are a nightmare to remove it they bake in. So many Huracans suffer from that.

I noticed some of the buttons were tacky and on their way to becoming sticky so I negotiated that in the price. The reverse button the worst since its the one mostly used. I'm going to get three new buttons from StickyRx and do the install myself. Doesn't seem that bad. Next to go will be the directional buttons on the steering wheel. Hate that we have to deal with this. Apparently the 296 is free of the soft touch coating now.

May not help OP but if you are from Aus or NZ. You want to get them fixed by Bill M. (BM Leather Creations) in Melbourne. Great guy and shop to deal with.

Just got my buttons back from sticky Rx and I have to say they are beyond perfect! This is what the cars should have had from the factory…well worth it! Thanks Dave
