I was seriously going to buy this many tears ago but my 6'5" frame would not allow me to shift gears.
My knee was wedged between the steering wheel and the shift knos. Image Unavailable, Please Login

They are beautiful cars and I would consider one myself but at 6'6" it was mostly a no go. I have wedged into many very small cars (I had an M3 Roadster, Z3 body style) but I had to move the keys to rest on top of my knee (instead of wedged between my knee and the column) so I could fit into the car. I had an Alfa Spyder and a Fiat 124 as well, but I was also much younger then.

@Mantam8b...see Marks post above. I too was able to download some of the info from that website before it disappeared.
Subsequently I purchased an Italia produced in late 1968 that needs a total resto and I've been acquiring replacement parts.
I have this info in an excel spreadsheet that I have updated. I've started a spreadsheet of Griffith/Omega/Torino/Italias that
I've come across on the internet and have about 52 so far. These cars deserve a message board where info can be shared.

Interesting project. I looked at buying one of these restored but my 6' 5" frame would not fit inside.

Wow! I would really love to have one of these, they are truly beautiful. I don't think I have the space to do the restoration, probably not all of the skills either.

From what I have read, they don't handle that well so I would do a restomod and focus on the looks with better driving characteristics. OOPS, further stretching my lack of skills here.
As noted by @Alpintourer, I doubt I can fit into the car. I had an M-Roadster (Z3 body style) but I had to put the keys on top of my knee because my knee was against the column.

Still, at that price it is tempting.

I want to replace the rubber bushings on the front suspension radius arm of a 1969 Italia spider. I've read that this front suspension is from a Fiat. Can someone please tell which model Fiat?
I also want to replace the two steering rack bushings which I believe are from a Peugeot 403. The bushings are 30mm OD, 30mm length, 10mm ID and the only source I've found is in Germany and they will not ship to the USA.

Got to be a 1966-1969 model. Those models did share a lot of parts. Take a look at page 102 here and see if it looks familiar. My car is in the body shop for another month but I can measure bushings when it comes back.

To me it doesn't look Fiat.

HI. Is anyone still active on this thread? I have a '71 Italia that is need of a suspension rebuild. I have a resto shop so I can do any of the work needed. I am refreshing and sorting the car to sell so I prefer to rebuild the original stuff instead of do a mustang 2 rack or some other grafting. I had the whole braking system rebuilt by White Post Restorations.

My car has the later style suspension.

I was able to find some PNs on this thread but it is going to be a crapshoot getting it all figured out.

    Thx

    Charles Handler.

I believe the best results for a rear end suspension was an E Type rear with inboard brakes, it comes as a whole package and is easy to graft in.
The original live axle is akin to a tractor...a vintage tractor.
