Is there anyone who only brought a single 296 getting a VS allocation?
$10-20k I would guess. It appears actual build orders will start in May and that could mean deliveries this year!
No such luck for me. Dealer said they got less than expected and only a couple of spyders. Their deposit is 30K.
It’s 50k for the initial (for spider, not sure if coupe is same), and then I’m sure another balance is due once in production. Usually 10% or so?
this is interesting. Spoke with 4 others who were offered (and all accepted) VS coupe spots. Different markets. Bottom line, its likely that the 296VS will be sold at the same levels as the Pista or even fewer. Variables: We knew what the total annual new car allocation was for the dealer, knew how many VSs they said they were allocated and did the math/ guess work. Don't ask me to post the hill-billy math. As your dealer what their 296VS allocation is, how many new cars they are allocated per year and then compare to 2018/2019 when the Pista was the VS. Bottom line, Ferrari isn't over producing the 296 VS. I suspect that the VS will surprise all of us.
So for real, regarding tariffs, what are you guys interested in the car going to do if Ferrari tries to pass on 25% extra? $750k for VS? I think I’m out in that case.
I will still buy it. And I think everyone with F80 will still buy them too for an extra million! I think it will impact the regular models more, and new buyers. But there are enough vip buyers for all the special models even if they cost 25% more. But hopefully the tariff goes away before then, deliveries are far away.
Trump said the tariffs that start April 2nd will remain for the duration of his term. Take that how you want.
Have you considered changing dealers , they simply may not have got the allocations they thought they were going to get. You may get an allocation down the track as some will no doubt be cancelled in light of the 25% tariff coming in the US
Certainly has a positive impact on used cars. It will take months for that to take effect, of course, and it will depend on if they remain in place. But that impact could be substantial.
The 296VS deliveries here in the US will be 18 to 24 months away (if the usual VS delivery ops tempo remains consistent moving forward) and a lot can change between now and then. This tariff won’t affect my 296VS purchase decision, but it damn sure could have hurt me with my SF90XX that was delivered last week. I owe my dealer $250k worth of thanks.
Flip side - my XX has not been allocated to the factory and who knows on VS. EU charges 10% to US cars I believe ... a lot of tax laws are going to change and possibly back to 2024. Don't care what anyone says - gamesmanship is going to shutter more than a few doors. F stock dropped 5% - people make major $'s knowing what Trumpet plays - prior.
I'd really doubt the 296vs will show up this year except for the reveal. I have an xx coming and they haven't even started the build, I think the xx will be produced into late 2025/early 2026, so I think mid to late 2026 is the earliest you'll see them show up. I've had both the 296 and 296 gts and getting an xx, haven't been told if I get the vs but I think I only want the spider as I had a pista coupe but couldn't get the spider. Lot of challenge guys and old big time clients in front of me. May pass if only offered the coupe...
Dealer confirmed that the first deliveries of the 296VS will be in Q4 of this year 2025. So hopefully we have some Ferrari VIP customers here on the forum that can post pictures of their cars by the end of the year , that would be awesome.
I did so because I’d like to track my VS and a GTB is better suited for that , I think you also have a bit more headspace in the GTB to wear a helmet. Not to mention I already have a 296 GTS , so for the sake of change I went for the GTB VS although I was offered the GTS VS.
I have to say, thank you, Mr. Trump! A 25 percent tariff is incredible. I read today on FerrariChat that 80 percent of buyers will cancel future deliveries. That means we in Europe will get more cars! Of course, it’s very, very unfortunate for all US buyers. I hope Ferrari and the USA find a solution. Otherwise, I’ll take your 296 VS Spider!
Had been to Italy on Monday, books are still closed worlwide for the VS, no orders can be taken yet ...
dealers in the US know their allocations. That is what they are offering to select folks now...a confirmed spot on their list. Questions: - The 'digital reveal', is that happening in Miami? Any info on this event? - The actual reveal, has that been announced?
as far as the tariffs go...it makes sense that as the prices on the new cars rise so will the prices on the resale. Thus, our 296GTS will hopefully be worth more at resale thus negating the added expense of the VS.
I’ve been told the digital reveal is on 29 April and that the actual car(s) — I’m assuming both coupe and spider will be unveiled simultaneously — will be at Ferrari Racing Days in mid-May in Miami. The car may be shown elsewhere before the mid-May date, but it will be at Ferrari Racing Days for those who are attending.
