    Hi,

I am trying to fit an exhaust valve controller to my Speciale. I’ve watched every video possible on YouTube and I’m stuck on one last part.

I’m trying to disconnect the cable from the solenoid but I am unaware how to remove the steel pin. The space is incredibly tight so I don’t have much wiggle room.

    - Airbox Cover Off
    - Air Filter Out
    - Air Box Loosened (next to impossible to fully take out)

Any advice or help on how to disconnect them? Thank you in advance for your help.

did you see this one? Might help. This was on a 458 Spider. The rear diffuser was off for other services, but he says that the diffuser is not necessary nor the bumper to remove.

Thank you. Yes, I’ve watched that a few times, however he removed the rear diffuser and had access to a lift.

The issue is that you cannot fully take out the Airbox unless you go under the car, as you need to unscrew the exhaust valves that at actually connected to it.

I installed mine without removing the airbox or bumper or diffuser. However I do have skinny hands and was able to get my hand fully in between the edge of the lower airbox and the body panel. If your hand doesn't fit, you'll have a much harder time. I'm going to describe how I did it. I took a medium length flathead screw driver with the handle in my hand being held by 3 fingers, pinkie, ring and middle. Your index finger should be extended, thumb should be up. Your hand should be in a gun position. The tip of the screwdriver and tip of the index finger met to functioned like chop sticks to grab the metal clip. I inserted the screwdriver tip between the metal clip and the connector and then pulled directly tangential up. This pulls the metal clip entirely out of the connector because its a U shape. Your finger should be on the outside of the clip while screwdriver on the inside. This ensures the clip doesn't go flying. Once you have the clip off, the connector disconnects smoothly. If I recall correctly, I inserted my hand in first, and then passed the screwdriver in to grab it after my hand was inserted. My wrist is 6.5" around for reference.

    Exactly so !

This way is simple and correct, so we made/created our own exhaust controller, remotely controlled ... very easy !
