It has more to do with a perceived notion that electric has inherent disadvantages that won't eventually be overcome say in 100 years? The only truly objective thing that can be critiqued is sound, which is of course different. Even all aspects of NVH can be reproduced (albeit artificially) - but it's fake cries the purists!

Just funny how every double-blind audiophile test on the most 'discriminating' ear on say a lossless digital recording of saying a Vinyl recording has always shown it's bogus, nobody can consistently hear the difference beyond some savants.

Some folks will insist on paying $10,000 on audio cables. Hey, whatever floats your boat.

Spotify doesn't stop anybody from buying a record player if they so choose now and forever.

 

Who cares if the tesla is faster than a mclaren. It's a replacement for a Volvo or whatever family sedan. Now the Evija, that's something else.

Define faster.
1 special lap means zero. Thats the issue with lap tests, no one who goes to the track does one lap.
What's a tesla lap time for 10 laps, can it even complete 10 laps without limp mode or the tires melting.

the measure of a track car is sustained performance, and so far no ev has sustained performance, I guess the closest is an ionic 5n and thats maybe M2 performance for maybe 15-20 mins, even then its heavy on turn in and eats tires..

its funny how people get blown away by some metrics, and obviously some metrics sell cars to people.

but yeah, i guess if the measure is Posey supercars which are really just road cars, a tesla can accelerate to a certain speed faster, realisticaly as this thread talks about lap times if you take a tesla to the track after a few laps its pretty uselss, but yeah on road where acceleration bursts below 120 is the thing, its the hammer..
