Hi chaps, Is there a spacer or something similar available to bring the steering wheel closer on a non airbag 355? My knees are touching the steering wheel! Thanks!
I gave up on the mini van version that the 355 came with. A 360 wheel is smaller and fits a lot better. In regards to a spacer.....I'm sure someone like MOMO makes something.
I don't think there's anything off the shelf, but you could model something in CAD and have it made up by a machine shop. I have the Momo boss, 100mm BG steering wheel spacer and a 320mm Momo Monte Carlo.
Thats what I was thinking, I dont really want to take the lovely 3 spoke wheel off and fit an aftermarket one unless I have to.
You might be able to cobble together a solution from the parts here? https://www.hillengineering.co.uk/suspension-steering/steering-wheel-related 2x SWA-355-01 facing in opposite directions, with a spacer in between?
Just remember that your hands will now be quite a bit further from the column-mounted controls, it’s mainly the turn signal that’s the issue. In my 348 I made an extender paddle that lets me use the turn signal without taking my hand off the wheel.
Super ghetto obviously, would love if someone cnc’d something that’s all aluminum and anodized black. This is just a cheap tool-less hose clamp around some thin neoprene, with an acrylic extender paddle JB-welded to the hose clamp tightening knob, then shot matte black. Would love to see and hear other people’s fixes and ideas, mine is obviously not very elegant. Just realized it needs another coat!
