Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login finally managed get that picture I promised you today. It was very tough as the frequency of the image and iPhone camera did not match so I had to take 15 or 20 pictures at various distances. Image Unavailable, Please Login
As u can see in the image, you can see both the severity of the turn caution and also the distance to the turn in.
Thank you! That is so cool! I know that was a lot of work (as you described it even took many photo attempts), so I really appreciate it. I hope other members here find it as cool as I do. I saved it to my phone images. Thanks again, buddy!
You are welcome, Ivan. FYI, the severity display works off the Car’s navigation system and you don’t have to choose any destination.
On the subject of GPS, do you have any issue with the GPS not loading? My car needs to sit for 2 minutes at the beginning of each drive to lock the signal otherwise it still thinks I am home when 25 miles away and never reacquires the signal. CarPlay works fine which is interesting since it feeds from car GPS so likely a software issue. Dealer told me it works as expected… I don’t use the satnav but as per above during drives on back roads, it is pretty useful to have the arrow/distance to turn.
Car does take sometime to lock GPS signal but am not sure it takes 2 minutes. I have never faced the situation you are describing; GPS not locking signal and car assuming you are at start point still after 25 miles out. CarPlay navigation is independent of car’s nav / GPS system. Car’s antenna may boost the cell signal but does not give GPS data to iPhone. Your cars’ Sat nav software may need a dealer update or reset / reload or could be some other issue it sounds like. I am no expert in this matter but just speculating. All the best in getting it resolved.
Just curious about the brightness issue. I know that polarized sunglasses can make a HUD display just about disappear, but you're saying even without sunglasses the HUD image is hard to see?
Yep. The brightness of the display is low even at its brightest setting. I have HUD in my other car too and it is bright as heck day or night. BTW, Polarized glasses don’t seem to bother HUD these days.
Thanks for the feedback. It is definitely 2 minutes stop clock in hand, every time. Will book it in again, was told they updated the software but since no change, something is off. From all I have read, Wireless Carplay uses the car GPS if present, apparently a requirement for the implementation.
In addition to the HUD being not bright enough, my automatic wipers do not work, and the headlights do not turn off much of the day. I am beginning to suspect the sensor that sits behind the windshield. Anyone else have similar issues?
I have a problem with the HUD in my 296. The system does not pick up the correct speed limit. I am told by Ferrari they are awaiting a fix, but it seems very slow to arrive...has anyone else experienced a similar problem?
if press and hold the home key it will shrink car play back into a side screen and put the reffing counter back. Maybe everyone knows this but took me a couple of days to figure out and transformed my car play experience
Yep, I discovered that too after a frustrating experience with multiple screens. My home button is still wonky as to when it will come on.
May be a dumb ? But do you have the touch pad locked and need to wake it up. I have that setting on which is actually a godsend.
Can dash brightness be turned down very low for night driving? I have read it is still very bright but maybe that person is unaware of how to do it, as it seems there are some "hidden" settings a few of you know about that others may not
I do not think you can but by adjusting the position of it and the brightness you could probably render it useless
