Best overview I’ve seen Thanks so much for posting! The 12 C is truly a concept car which breaks with the Ferrari tradition
But most concept cars have short half-lives The ‘belle of the ball ‘ but then in the harsh light of day are soon forgotten. one reason why I switched from a contrasting color like silver to our basic black and non metallic. Far less dramatic but maybe with a more classic look. I plan to drive the car and keep her for at least 7 years.
I am reconsidering replacing the Daytona seats in my rosso cosa configuration with the racing seat in order to get a more emotional interior - do you think this is ok for the 12Cilindri, or is that too much?
You can combine the best of both worlds and opt for the Racing Daytona. Rosso Corsa with the Racing Daytonas in nero, with rosso inserts, is pure class. I also think they are very good in terms of comfort (even if the standard ones are more).
Love the stance of the new 12c, look more planted than its predecesors and finally a Ferrari with the weels that follow the line of the fender, not hides like the 812
I had Daytona seats in my 360. I did a monocolor seat . I thought they looked so much better than the standard seat. They are a bit stiff and uncomfortable until they are broken -in! I had full electric seats too In the 12C , there is a ton of design surfaces , shapes and different materials. My person feeling is that I’d err on the side of boring rather than provocative. Daytona seat in a mono color leather design might be aesthetically nicer in the long term rather than the Stars and Stripes with contrasting leather in the stripes. The Stripes have small circles and so don’t worry they are eye catching no matter what ! Im not sure when the Daytona seat design was introduced. If that occurred with the Daytona as we now call her, then its a nice homage to the original model. The carbon fiber seats are nice looking but a bit more effort is required to get in and out. And your lady passenger will be giving the valet a free “show” which a valet might like but she probably won’t! Im getting the 12 C as my daily driver so I’ve chosen the electric seat with the gold rake full and central section leather.
A significant amount of additional hoses and such from prior series which were more tidy in the engine compartment. Image Unavailable, Please Login
All this talk of seats and nobody is posting pictures of the interiors and different seat options of their builds
Here yo go: These are the 4 options that I consider at the moment. My current configuration is with beige tradizione, but I consider changing to black racing seats: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had the exact same seat in my 296 GTB as your 2nd pic - Nero leather with the red vertical centre stripe, red stitched cavallino and centre section in black alcantara with Daytona inserts. About the time the 812 debuted this shade of gray was popular and expensive paint as well! For me, seeing an 812 in this color in person changed my mind. It was not a special looking paint at all for a large GT.
The metallic green press Spiders all had this weird interior seat color. In the videos it actually looks orange. Maybe this a color theme of some soccer club or other sports team. Yes , that’s why the design team chose this color pairing.
Ferrari used the Arancia (orange) for the leather interior in the 1960's as seen with this Pino Verde (green) 1967 275 GTB/4. Image Unavailable, Please Login - Peter Kumar
The origin of the Daytona style seat goes back at least to the days of the 246 Dino. Image Unavailable, Please Login
In 1967, at the Daytona International speedway in Florida , USA, Ferrari won First , second and third in the 24-hour endurance race. The name Daytona comes from two words."Day" and "Town" Here is a nice article about that Ferrari's comeback and legendary victory https://rossoautomobili.com/blogs/magazine/1967-daytona-the-story-behind-this-iconic-ferrari-picture
A nice article about the original Daytona spider. This car was the V12 flagship model and dince it camer into production a year or so after the legendary win at Dayton was called Daytona. Here is the debut car shown in metallic green and beige or tan leather with the Daytona seat style. Now i understand the design teams color choice for the 12 C spider! https://robbreport.com/motors/cars/gallery/1972-ferrari-365-gts4-daytona-spider-in-photos-1235505973/
