No rush. The tariff exempt cars and their parts 25 years and older - maybe "said author" will want a new Ferrari's and add to his collection. Of course it was written by a guy who owns a vintage collection - including Maser birdcage which should tell people who that certain person is! SMH
I understand that the car will be unveiled virtually in a few weeks, but when is the first physical showing of the car? Has it been shown in Italy yet? My deposits and associated paperwork have been submitted for both Piloti and Spider Editions, btw, as of a couple of weeks ago.

Most interesting thing he posted was this F8 doing some sort of mule work. Note the antennas up top. This was 4 days ago. Unrelated to the 296 most likely, but what are they doing? It is likely dealers saw the car a couple of months ago and there is probably a physical car at Ferrari Racing Days Miami next month
my dealer said they have no idea what it looks like. They just know how many theyre getting and whose getting it.
Selected dealers have seen it in Maranello a couple of weeks ago. My dealer said: YOU WILL BE HAPPY....so I am enthusiastic until April 29th....Let us see...I hope that my dealer knows my expectations well enough...
I think you can see at the Ferrari Racing Days in Miami in May. I forget the exact dates, it’s either 1 or 2 weeks after the Miami F1.
have any of you asked your dealers how many Pistas they were allocated vs 296VS? I did ask a 2-3 friends and all reported that their dealers were given fewer allocations.
not sure if is. Without confirmation, eligibiliy is about being an active customer (aka baught a car in the last 3 years) for VS coupé. Eligible doesn't mean you'll get a slot but I don't know if this is a dealer of factory choice at the end.
People saying they have a slot today are likely not telling the full truth. Dealer are normally not allowed to take reservation before April 29th (or at least deposit) as Ferrari won't accept reservation before. Some dealers do but not with Ferrari approval. Once you made your deposit, you are not yet guaranteed to get a slot : you have to wait a little to get official confirmation (or decline)
Except that we're at the beginning of the story for the 296 VS, whereas the Pista story is long gone. Exclusivity being one selling point, it would make no sense to claim there will be more 296 VS than Pista even if that's the plan ('as part of the global production increase). Besides, if the demand will actually be softening, there's a possibility that Ferrari will produce less 296 VS - in the end they will make some balance between price and volume (since a higher price reduces demand anyway) in the pursuit of the best financial outcome.
For gods sake let’s hope they are testing a decent new exhaust system in exchange for the vacuum cleaner sounding exhaust currently on our cars.
We can dream. We can also dream they are bringing back the V8, but it looks like the instrument cluster/dash has been replaced in the top picture, too, so I suspect they are messing with some electronics or steering wheel instead.
Agreed. What IS interesting is that the dealers are telling clients what their allocations are. Consistently I have heard fewer 296VS vs Pistas allocated. This could mean that they know they will sell fewer because the price of the VS will be higher than many of us expect.
Expect limited editions to have less production but more models. VS SF90M Electric RomaM maybe more this year. XX makes you retain SF90 who knows with SF90M - three alone in one model is a big ask, near 3m in same model. VS a lot less than F80 Monza XX and like older models have skyrocketed, allowing those and other owners a strong outlook. It's a game - most owning 296 are in it for VS.
Given the recent climate of so many 296s flooding the market, doesn't it make sense to really limit production of the 296 VS to force those that didn't get the VS to go out an buy the existing 296s effectively hitting the brakes on the falling 296 prices ?
But Ferrari has switched the motivation to buy their cars - target buyers don't care about cars, so wannabe buyers interested by the VS would not want a regular 296 in spite of it being almost as good and far less expensive.
