Why is everything I post a debate with you? I posted there were *potentially* 6,000 pistas produced worldwide, so people could gauge what 85% of that may look like. You misinterpreted that as 6,000 produced in the US. That’s your problem, not mine. If that is cryptic to you, then perhaps the McLaren and Porsche accidents have scrambled your brain worse than I originally thought.
Bear in mind that Ferrari have +5000 employees. I guarantee you that some of them are on the same page as him in that regard, and just want their paycheck. They're not a homogenous mass in Maranello.
If you don't like what he has to offer put him on ignore no use railing against him Most here find him entertaining
Oh I don’t really care one way or another I just find it odd he’s viewed as the oracle of F chat when I see nothing to support this and I’ve been here a while. Maybe years ago before I arrived this reputation was built. He seems like a Nice guy to me though I personally have nothing against him.
There is no game, just the factory that reads the posts. I don't want to cause problems for anyone...
I just share a vision of Ferrari, like many here, a more immersive experience... let us leave my person far from that...
The easiest way to predict the production number is to see how many of us got the invitation on the VS
That is not so easy, not every one who got an invitation is an actual buyer and not every buyer got an invite . It did not work that way globally. Ferrari is currently making 13 k cars per year, they need to keep that up Roma is to be replaced SF 90 is winding down along with GTB and GTS. Whilst the full electric is to be launched later this year however going by the lack of enthusiasm for the Macan will it be a popular model . My opinion is not . There are big gaps to fill in production so it could easily be more than Pista however this will depend on on price . If it is 80k USD plus more than the base GTB that may count some out as with options that could easily turn into double that . Time will tell
My dealer shared the list of people that are getting the VS car. That list is 15% shorter then the Pista list. This was confirmed to me by a differnet dealer as well. The only way for Ferrari to change that is tio make more cars and hand out allocations after production has started.
Based on the entire allocation being sold and the car being higher margin I see Ferrari making further allocation(s) available. The R&D costs are spent, why not increase your bottom line with a longer production run on a more profitable car – it is not a limited by numbers. This might help raise residuals on the standard 296 as the VS is a higher entry point and gives Ferrari time to ready the 296 replacement. It would be good if Ferrari held off announcing the 296 replacement until 6 months or less of it shipping, rather than the 18-24 months "build up and anticipation" style program it has moved to in recent years. With little seen about the 296 replacement I am hoping this is the case. If Ferrari do something like "488, Pista, F8" again I can only see it hurting the market further, eg "296, 296VS, 296M"
Consider that there are probably more dealers in the world than when the Pista was announced in 2018. There are certainly more potential clients. You can quibble about this or that but, Ferrari has really upped their game since then. There are also more models than in 2018, and the production capacity is now greater with the new factory either on line or on line soon.. My own theory, they will probably make a few more than the prior model, because thats the way these things tend to work. But it will feel like less, because there are many more potential clients, and more dealers. Also, it’s possible for specific markets might get a few less cars. We all want our cars to hold value as best as possible, this is an important factor, but most important is the car itself. I think the 296 VS will be a fantastic machine, because they are starting at a very good place. Looking forward to learning more. Something positive to be excited about, that feels even rarer these days!
Great point. Think about how great Pista was versus lackluster 488. If this is the same type of improvement, well I'll have to experience that myself.
“Ferrari produced approximately 3,500 units of the 488 Pista worldwide. This includes both the coupe and Spider variants: Around 2,300–2,500 Pista coupes Around 900–1,000 Pista Spiders Ferrari didn’t officially publish a hard production cap, but these figures are based on estimates from reputable Ferrari sources and registries. The 488 Pista remains one of the more limited and sought-after modern Ferrari models.” CHTGBT
Thank you. It would be nice if the rear end had a more expressive design as well. I hope that in the near future, the round taillights will return to Ferrari.
I love the rear as is. The front needs more emotion. The crazy AF paint makes the otherwise boring nose exciting. The car is remarkably good considering the resale value. I have lost all interest in buying back a 458. They’re worlds apart in the total driving experience. IMO
I agree about the previous models being world's apart. Now that I've spent time in a 488 Pista Spider and drive back to back in a 296 GTS, it has made me very very excited for the 296 VSS. The 296 as is would already out drive the Pista on the windy roads and at the track.. it's definitely more fun to drive. I still love the Pista.. the sound i would not say is superior to the 296 but has such a awesome throaty note whereas the 296 has a sharper visceral baby v12 sound..
