I was following it live and 109.000 was the highest bid, number which rises to 127.857 EUR if we add the 17,3% auction house's premiums. Full conversion back to original 512 TR look would sum up another 20.000, but I'm not sure if this will be made...

When I first saw this auction, I wondered who would rebody a gorgeous 512TR into the 512M look, which is a Testarossa dressed up with 1990s pep boys sawblade wheels and kit car headlights. Then I read what the former owner was involed with. :D

Very interesting they did a complete rebody including the decklid.

If you look at the engine they also revamped intake design/etc

Was this really a rebody (aka complete with subframe swap) or vin swap??

The transformation includes: A front end with fixed headlights under glass, replacing the original pop-up headlights. A redesigned front bumper with F512 M-style air intakes and fog lights. 18-inch F512 M-style alloy wheels. A modified rear end with dual round taillights and an "F512 M" emblem. A customized interior with a metal gear knob and OMP racing harnesses.

This vehicle has been modified with components that replicate the aesthetics of the F512 M. According to the technical specifications and chassis number, it is a Ferrari 512 TR (type F110HB). These modifications were not made by Ferrari and affect components such as the bodywork, headlights, wheels, and interior details. Restoration Possibility The vehicle retains the mechanical and structural foundation of the 512 TR. Returning it to its original configuration is feasible, replacing the modified elements with the model's original components.

My mistake, I thought they built it on a testarossa base not a 512TR base. Clearly can't read, ha!

I've seen Testarossa to 512TR and a Testarossa with the rear lights/grill of the 512M, but not a complete transformation.

The estimate given in the auction for reverting to orig. is somewhat optimistic, although the 512M parts are worth more.

Very good question. I did not inspect the car in person so I can't say if any of the VIN or S/N tags are manipulated. The car had spanish paperwork but they said nothing about Ferrari's original ones such as model booklets or warranty book.
