I wanted Rory to win simply so the damned press would stop questioning him on why he cannot seem to win the Masters. And I agree - it seemed odd to see Bryson weaing a shirt with 'LIV' on the arms, 'Crushers' on the front, and 'Crushers' on his bag, so yeah, I think 'LIV' was a big reason, and I doubt that many watch Bryson's YT channel, enough to make a difference if a politician was on it. I could add on some facts, but then I'd get banned for being political.
Views, not necessarily viewers. There are some videos I have watched 10-15 times. If this is political delete it, BUT, I'd say almost all of one particular party follow Bryson, or even golf in general, whereas the other party - doesn't. If anything Bryson attracted viewers to the TV broadcast.
who in the heck would watch that more than once? the ratings a view time blew away any network TV covereage.
You and I could do a show to blow away Network TV... LOL FTR, I never knew a thing about his talk with Trump, but then again, I don't subscribe to his YT channel.
My prediction: Yasir gets his PIF ownership in the Tour. Something significant like 10%. Probably an Augusta National membership too. LIV goes away, but all the players that signed there move back to the Tour, with no penalties. The future Tour calendar includes more events outside of the USA, like Saudi Arabia, as elevated events with big purses. So basically everyone wins. The Saudi’s get the ownership and access they wanted. The Tour keeps their brand and control, plus all the players back. And all the players are richer than they ever would have been if not for all this.. Plus they have rights now to do their own stuff (like Bryson’s YouTube channel)
Not sure why it is taking so long to move forward though. Also suspect that LIV hasn't signed any players for almost 2 years.
I’ve heard the issue is Tiger. And other Tour people that want some level of “punishment” to the guys that took the LIV money. Won’t happen. That money is gone. And the Tour guys that turned down the offers… they missed their chance for the easy check.
But they don't have to, or, the PGA has upped their game (pay) quite a bit, which is what the exisiting PGA players wanted (since LIV started)? And maybe some guys just are not cut for the LIV, the loud music and almost WWE-like settings, some are extremely loyal to the PGA - nothing wrong with that - but gheesh - someone offers me 100 million and a 3 day work week instead of 4, I just about have to take it. As an aside, I wonder how it is taxed - a Saudi company paying American players, let alone how is an American player taxed when he is under contract with a Saudi company but playing in a tournament in Spain or the UK?
I just think LIV put acquisitions on hold, they were offering more money than almost any player was making PGA.
That I agree with. LIV seems to be losing steam IMO, probably because we see 'their' golfers in the PGA tournaments, which are 6x more prevalent on broadcast TV(?)
I think losing steam as they are in a wait and see phase, they are not losing steam in the sense they could still have Billions in funding unlike the PGA.
I mean in interest and viewership from John Q Public. It's ALMOST like the WNBA vs the NBA... you watch the WNBA more out of curiosity, then you decide you've had enough and you're done with it.
