I didn’t mention the SP1/2 because they are by Ferrari definition Icons!

Speaking of the modern day models, the 812 GTS l vs Comp VS editions ? Not sure! Think maybe the 12C is a more interesting design. Both have their weird design language.

I don't see it ... but the Lusso and the FF were two of my favorite cars to own and daily drive. I wish I enjoy my 12Cilindri as much as I enjoyed those two.

I don't. I should have asked. I actually liked the color quite a bit. They had rust orange calipers and it really seemed to work. The color hid some of the lines which wasn't great but it did work well with the black accents and gave the car a sleeker, classier feel.

Most likely the launch paint color Verde Toscana, right down to the orange brake calipers.
    With thanks to @JDT

It's not fair to scale 12Cilindri larger in comparison pictures.

Please notice that 12Cilindri is 9 cm lower than Lusso.

There are just so many incorrectly scaled or otherwise badly taken pictures about 12Cilindri, that I wonder, where do these come from?

People seem to think that 12C it is taller than it is. In fact, it has more streamlined shape than 812 Superfast:

    812: 4657 mm / 1276 mm = 3,65
    12C: 4733 mm / 1292 mm = 3,66

I find 12c is actually smaller in person than in picture.

When my Cali 30 arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the relatively short length. Seems smaller than the 458.

I saw the 12C and the F80 in New York recently. The F80 is fantastic! The 12C, not so much.

Aston has certainly produced a good car. That said, the massive torque somewhat masks how it performs against Ferrari. It is a small wonder that 12Cilindri is even able to compete against turbo charged Vanquish, which provides 85% more torque at 2500 rpm (542 Nm vs 1000 Nm) and 47 % more max torque (678 Nm @7250 rpm vs 1000 Nm @5000 rpm). Of course, shorter gear ratios on Ferrari even this out somewhat.

The craracteristic difference between the cars is that Vanquish provides maximum performance everywhere. Ferrari is more layered. It can't compete with Aston in lower revs (GT cruising), but then again, if really pushed (Racing), Aston drops well behind both on straights and in turns. The lower weight of 12Cilindri (-214 kg), faster and much more advanced gearbox, better brakes and aerodynamics make a big impact. 12Cilindri is much nimbler too. Aston has 10 % larger wall-to-wall turning circle (12.1 m vs 13.3 m).

So if you want to accelerate fast in any occassion, then perhaps Aston is your choice. But if you want to have more depth in your car and ultimately win the race, Ferrari is the better option.

I follow the Vanquish market pretty closely. They are selling briskly in the US. With one dropping off the marketplace and being replaced with another every couple days it seems. Anecdotal, but of all the cars I follow (992 GT3 RS, Revuelto, STO, Performante, Pista, 765LT, SF90) the only car that seems to be moving faster is a Porsche Spyder RS which is half the cost. To be clear, this is by no means scientific, but I am surprised by how quickly Aston appears to be moving through the Vanquish.

I can't comment for the US market as I don't follow it. I can only comment for Europe and the UK

For whatever reason the Aston still feels like my dad’s car. The Ferrari feels more my generation and I just turned 53 today so no longer the young buyer. It’s like the Bentley gtc. Pretty car but just a little too conservative. The Ferrari also feels like a different level of exclusivity to me without shouting look at me. I know plenty will disagree and prefer the AM but I am all in on the Ferrari.

    Totally agree!
Aston is very much a dated and second tier sports car today.

I don’t know how much cash Aston pays for their positive car reviews

Exterior styling is well second tier

Interior design is the exact same

    Transmission is way way behind

    Brakes Same

Engine? Let’s see it at the track! F1 ?

    Endurance racing?

    Sorry for my opinion

So I went to look at the Vanquish today hoping to be wowed and honestly in person I wasn't. The DB12 sitting next to it evoked much more emotion from its cohesive design and flow. The Vanquish is interesting, but just didn't feel special to me. It feels like they missed on that part, especially when looking at the previous vanquish design language and the beauty that car still is.
