Purosangue Market Values

That in turn would be very good for value stability. The fact that Ferrari has only decided not to change things for the SF90, 296 and Roma shows that there seems to be a lot of interest for the Purosangue.

So it seems it is going to be 10% (plus sales tax on the extra 10%), so at that price increase are you (and others?) cancelling orders?

So how do we read this? Are they essentially subsidizing the three models with the weakest resale?

 

Exactly, however it appears the XX and the 296vs fall under the subsidized models

 

It's a good question and I don't know the answer. probably keep some but maybe not puro. feel that it will fall in value too much anyway and not terribly different than my bentayga or Lusso.

 

I don’t remember the Lusso or Bentayfa being sold at $100k over list. If Ferrari maintains the current production numbers and demand keeps going up due to the great owner reviews to other Ferrari owners I think depreciation will happen of course but not at an accelerated pace like on the Lusso.
After owning my Purosangue for 3 months it is one of my favorite cars and I can’t imagine selling it because there is nothing else I’d rather have as a daily driver. It really is a great everyday vehicle with true Ferrari personality and performance. Well done Ferrari!

 

Have an order that is not allocated to a production slot yet; I spent time speccing it, but I’m considering just going pre-owned at this point. High spec 2024s w/ de minimis miles look like they are going for what mid-spec 2026s will deliver at after these price increases.

Plus opportunity to get the car now vs. in two years. And in two years, I can either keep enjoying it or trade in for something else :/

 

Not a bad idea. There’s one here in classifides for lots over. And the Ferrari official site has them (buried) but seems like a few are reasonably priced.

Saw one just listed by San Antonio (full carbon, pano roof, etc.) for $530K

Has an obscene amount of miles for a first-year Ferrari, but it does feel like the market on these is getting ready to fall out.

 

Someone wise here said they will fall as expected.

 

I would have previously agreed that they will be hit hard for value. However, ours has been delivered a month now and I’ve driven it on winters and standard tyres. It is an incredible car. One of Ferrari’s best. There is nothing else like it. It leaves me dumbfounded, it has no right to be as good. It is genuinely fun to drive, handles brilliantly and very naturally, is beautifully designed and built and has the wonderful V12 for great entertainment. What else is like it anywhere?

There will be a big market for these cars for a long time. They are so usable and made ideally for today’s world of poor roads, speed bumps etc. It’s a true Ferrari and feels like it to drive. Lots of people used to say similar things about the FF and Lusso and though we owned both, I never felt quite as strongly about those cars. If I needed 4wd and to take four people they made sense, but you were always having more fun in the two-seater V12s. With the Purosangue, it’s actually more natural to drive and handle than the 812 (which I also love). I think it must be to do with the suspension system. I think it might be more fun than the 812. Can’t quite believe that is my conclusion but it is beyond impressive. It’s brilliant.

How many they make, for how long and what they replace it with will have a big say in its value. But for the demand side of the equation, I fully expect that to remain high for quite some time.

Before driving it I wondered how I might use it. Now I’m wondering how I can justify the cost of keeping it. Actually, right now I’m not even doing that - I really want to keep it in our garage. Maybe one day that will change but it will be no fault of the car if it does. I can imagine only one other company nailing a brief as well as Ferrari did with the Purosangue and that’s Porsche. But even they couldn’t or didn’t produce something like this.

 

It already has 12k miles on it after only one-year of ownership and they’re asking $530k for it. Using a ridiculously high-mileage example like this to jump to the conclusion that “the market is getting ready to fall out” is laughable.

 

This was my thought also.

I'm not sure the MSRP on the high mileage example but $530k may (or may not) still be above MSRP since the original cars had a much base price (approx $398k if I remember correctly).

Regardless, the mileage of this car is certainly an outlier. Of the other 24 cars on the US market, none are over 2900 miles.

 

PS prices have come down by 100k € or more standing in the dealers showrooms getting flat tires.
Still well above MSRP but the tendency shows just one direction: South!

 

All the same, this spec would cost you ~$600-625K today.

So one could reasonably conclude that simply driving like a normal car for a year will kill $75-100K of that value.

And I think that when there are 100 listed at dealers in a 6-12 mos., you're probably seeing the next $100K decline (as we've seen on 296, etc.).

 

Anyone who thinks these cars aren’t going to absolutely crater is very mistaken. It’s going to make the depreciation on a 296 gtb look like a walk in the park.

 

Curious, are you a PS owner or have one on order?

 

I don’t think a NA V12 would depreciate faster than a hybrid v6. The market will tell us but so far the Purosangue is holding stronger.

 

The UK market has foreshadowed price action (directionally) in the USA with recent Ferrari models such as 296 and SF90. That is probably the best indicator...

 

296 and SF90 are a separate story as they represent the less beloved hybrid sports car universe.
However, 12 cylinders Image is being spoiled by the strategy of throwing them on the market in enormously large production numbers with cars that show two and a half tons on the weighing scale. 12 cylinders for the 12 cylinders‘ sake.

 

There are already about 30 for sale and many with fewer than 500 miles. The flippers keep getting early allocations and flooding the market. Dealers are hurting themselves these days.
