I was miles from home when had I got a bit of a scare as i tried to start my 575

a couple of tries with no success. Perhaps i didn't make proper contact with the push button on the fob

it seems to work fine now but the thought of being stranded due to the immobilizer is a big concern

I don't know the code either, ,and i only have one fob

does anyone have any experience with this subject ?

I change mine out once a year.

If you're worried, then it makes sense to have a new set of fobs made (without the Ferrari tax)

Clean the battery contacts in the fob, mine stopped working because the contact were dirty

Had a similar issue three years ago. The rechargeable battery associated with the siren module gradually goes bad/leaks. With my situation, other than not starting, the system no longer "chirped". Replacing the siren solved the problem.

    1. Can i assume the battery is a standard type commonly available?

    2. also, i assume now that i can pry the case open with a sharp knife , etc without losing the code

Yes. You can pry it open with no issues.
Yes. The battery is commonly available.

I've had my car 11 years. Changed the batteries once. Not recommending that but it's a data point. I carry a spare in the glove compartment.
