    Hello everyone,

    I have decided to do a restoration thread on my 275. As some of you already know, I purchased this car the summer of last year. It had been hidden away in coastal Oregon by my friend Wyatt Smith. Due to his untimely passing, I was able to purchase the car from his estate. Mr. Smith acquired the car in late 1969 after it had been wrecked in the nose which resulted in a broken timing case. Shortly after that, Mr. Smith began repairing the damage to the nose as well as retrofitting 4 cam engine #9779. Perhaps making the only 275 Short Nose 4 cam.

    I have been driving the car since last summer but have recently started the tear down. This thread will serve as documentation of the restoration and I will update periodically as things progress. As I have mentioned before, any information leading to the whereabouts of Lusso #5471 with my original engine would be greatly appreciated.

    Good luck with the restoration. May I ask if it has the original transaxle/driveshaft? In the event that you cannot reunite the car with the original 07511 engine, will you be looking to fit a correct SOHC tipo 213 engine?

    Just a quick clarification, the timing case on the 4 cam engine #9779 was damaged when #9779 was crashed. You can see that the alternator was pushed into the case in the accident as shown in the earlier photo. The alternator bracket currently on the engine is tweaked a little too. A replacement case was ordered and I actually have the invoice for the air freight. Engine #7511 was removed and ended up residing in Lusso #5471 as we know.

    As we have been removing bumpers and interior pieces #7511 stampings are showing up in all the right places. The engine is also removed as seen in the photos, as is the transaxle and suspension.

    The Massini Report below shows the completion dates etc. Though a fair amount of the information that follows is incorrect. Wyatt first registered the car in his name in 1971 and was ordering parts for the repair as early as 1969. And the car was not rolled, there's no evidence of damage to the roof, the passenger side or rear of the car.

    @GSJFerrari Was a torque tube drive shaft used so the 2 mount 4 cam engine could be correctly mounted?
