    Just a quick intermediate update ...

    The tool arrived and Jeff set it up

    We did a gearbox self learn / relearn - successful

    Did some more timings which still prove that the accumulator was weak ....that will be changed soon

    The car is back on the road and shifting great....just need to identify and fix root cause ( still not pinpointed) after Jeff changes the accumulator ..which may be the root cause

    In terms of the red slow down light ...after discussing it with Jeff in more depth we do believe it is a wiring issue to the downstream O2 sensor or the sensor itself ..more tests to follow

    Motronics without EGT sensors use modeled EGT values to calculate EGT and cat temps. To simplify it (it's a multiple page flow chart in reality), it's a function of time, load, ignition angle and lambda, with a bunch of smaller correction factors(IAT etc) applied to it. It's a simple bit field in the project configuration part of the flash to turn off/on the thermocouples.

    Don't know if the wiring is the same as the Scud, but it may give you a guide for wiring checks on the downstream sensor.

    Pin 1 is heater power for the downstream O2 sensor
    Pin 2 is heater control
    Pins 3 & 4 are the actual lambda sensing wires.

    Quick update.

    Flash and relearned the trans and it seems to be operating well.

    I got the accumulator in the mail late last night and will be installing it this weekend, maybe tomorrow night.

    this silly job keeps getting in the way.

    I also ordered both downstream o2 sensors as they both had very twisted wires to the point it was putting a ton of strain on the loom.

    I’m going to go through and check each of the sensors in the diagram above to make sure they are good to go.

    that being said, the car started for the first time tonight with no cat over temp error. Then again this morning it started with no error.

    im not sure if something just need a good run but we will see how it acts tonight

    Hey guys!

    first I want to thank all of you again with this project/gamble!!!!

    Finally got some time to work on the car last night.

    accumulator is changed and F1 pump is holding at 3:58 while car is running! Thank @flash32 for all your help. I’ve got to get some data back to flash for follow up steps but I’ll get on that next week.

    I went ahead and changed out the downstream o2 sensors on the advice of a few of you and that resolved the cat overheat issue. Have not seen I pop up in almost 10 starts.

    got some new wheels and tires put on yesterday, love the way they look.

    car runs and drives incredible!!!

    I’d have to say I lucked out on this one.

    as requested here are some pics. Don’t judge me for my shop. It’s an addiction. LOL

    I don't feel Jeff got the deal of a century, he earned it! About 90% of us, including yours truly, wouldn't be able to pull this off.
