MS is shutting it down after about 25 years of service. Skype was amazing in the early days with video calls for the first time, I even had it built in to my smart tv. It was great to screen calls for me for a long time. Now, it is being shutdown for the insanely buggy Teams that crashes. I got involved with using Skype when I worked for an Index Funds company over 20 years ago where my boss had something to do with it. It was really cool, and I gave up cellphones in 06 to 09 to use this wonderful free wifi that was always open everywhere and even bought a number with voicemail services to screen calls from the thousands of boiler room offshore recruiters that never cease. It never caught on, but here we are now and as little as I like to sign in to see those recruiter calls, I'll miss it.
Yeah its a bummer. My entire industry uses it everyday. I guess I'll switch to Team but its kinda clunky so far compared to Skype.
Je me souviens de mon premier contact, un de mes amis venait de rejoindre une nouvelle équipe à Rome. Les choses évoluent, il faut vivre avec son temps si parfois on trouve les choses compliquées
Google translator come in handy.....I get things change and it is pretty basic since its just texting. We use zoom for video calls. But teams is a step back for now. It doesn't work as well. Skype is a much better platform.
Here the translation. I remember my first contact, one of my friends had just joined a new team in Rome. Things evoluated; we must live with our time even if sometimes we find things complicated.
