Well guys I'm stuck and not sure what to do here. Car is new to me and has quite a few codes. I've already done spark plugs, changed coils on the cylinders with misfires, etc. I have a good mechanic near me but he doesn't have Ferraris propietary software so diagnosis can be a pain... Basically car cuts out at 7000 Rpm and flashes cat over temp. I ran live data on my scanner and the internal temp of both cats reaches right at 1500F on both sides. Not sure if that's to high of an internal reading or not but I do know 1200 is max for external. I am assuming I need to service the injectors as well but not sure. Also not sure if the cats actually need to be replaced. . Also getting an intermittent gear box light. For the gear box code I have no clue what the code is telling me or what needs to be replaced.I will list the codes below. Most of them are not currently active. Meaning I cleared them, they went away and all came back but are stored for now rather than showing a constantly illuminated mil light. The cat overtemp/misfire codes will eventually store though.

    Misfire codes on left engine
    P0308 cylinder 8
    P0309 cylinder 9
    P0311 cylinder 11

    Codes on right engine
P16f7 -powerstage pulse width modulation fuel pump feedback line error on eldor master

    Transmission code
U1942 bcm line no signal lost some communication with NBC

    Misc codes
    C1107
    U1602
    B1820
    P1808
    B0010-this one is active
    B0011
    U1703

Like what the heck is going on with this car. It's missed codes galore but car seems to drive great other than cutting out at 7000 rpm. Welcome to the forum John and sorry to hear about your problems with the car.

I can’t help you with the codes but I can tell you that Cat Overtemp is a catch-all error message which doesn’t necessarily relate to the cats. For example, I had a bad fuel pump (which eventually killed a 50A fuse and took the pump ECU with it) and was persistently getting the Cat Overtemp warning (accompanied by engine shutdown) before it finally blew.

Hey for sure I agree with you. It seems we have it narrowed down to a fuel or ion module issue but that's as far as we can seem to get

Unless you enjoy spending your time trying to solve riddles, I’d take it to a Ferrari specialist to get it sorted.

And strange as it may seem I always start any problem solving with charging my battery . modern Ferraris are very sensitive to low voltage . So if you don't always keep your Ferrari hooked up to the battery maintainer…good luck and was previously mentioned probably not a bad idea to send it to the dealer. But don't be surprised if its just a bad battery.

I agree that you need to take the car to a mechanic familiar with the brand/model and with the proper equipment to diagnose it. Ultimately, trying to do this yourself may cost you far more money and headaches in the long run.
