    Hi Guys
A very long time ago there was a member here selling bumper extensions which you grafted on to your standard front bumper to basically turn it into a Challenge Stradale style unit. I remember reading a little bit about it but not the technicalities. Obviously they're bonded on and then body/paint work required for finishing. Does anybody remember these? Was it a fly by night failed idea? I have tried all types of searches with no luck.

Just for giggles, I posted your question in ChatGPT and got this answer. Maybe there's some truth in it.

You're likely referring to the Challenge Stradale-style bumper extensions for the Ferrari 360 Modena.
These were aftermarket fiberglass or carbon fiber add-ons that mimicked the more aggressive lower lip and air duct profile of the 360 Challenge Stradale front bumper, but were designed to bond onto a standard 360 Modena bumper rather than replace it entirely.

    What were they?
    • Sold as bumper extensions (sometimes called "splitters" or "CS lips")

    • Installed by bonding to the original bumper, then sanded, filled, and painted to match

    • Made from fiberglass (cheaper versions) or carbon fiber (higher-end)

    • Required professional bodywork to look seamless
    Who sold them?
    • A few independent fabricators and small-time vendors on FerrariChat were known to produce them, especially around 2005–2010

    • Some were custom molded locally by body shops rather than mass-produced

    • One name that comes up is Carbonio—they did CS-style parts, but mostly in full replacements

    • Another was a user/vendor possibly named "Heiko" or HGParts, but they’ve long since disappeared from most forums
Why are they hard to find?
    • It was never a mainstream product—more of a niche mod for those who couldn’t (or didn’t want to) swap the entire CS bumper

    • Since they required bodywork and paint, not many documented their install online in detail

    • Most of the forum posts are now buried or deleted, especially after the software platform migrations (FerrariChat had major redesigns)
    What happened to them?
    • They faded away because:
      • CS bumper replicas became more available and affordable

      • Most owners prefer bolt-on solutions over complicated bodywork

      • Resale value is better preserved with OEM or full-replacement parts

Thanks for your prompt reply EastMemphis
Is there nothing ChatGP can't do : )
I was hoping someone had posted some pics but I'm kinda thinking now it would just be easier to bet a CS style bumper so one day I can just put the original back on my, new to me, unmolested Modena.
