I‘ve tested the PS several times. People who claim it’s sound is better than 812 should perhaps see the ear specialist. Psychologist .⚕️
That's an unfair comparison. The Cayenne turbo gt would be more appropriate and that will destroy the Purosangue. I don't think it matters either way, they are all fast enough for SUVs.
Agreed. I had put in 10k miles in FF and Lusso, and currently 6k in 812 GTS this far. In my extended test drive of PS (2 days in total?), its engine and exhaust note is indeed the weakest. Iykyk. FF has the most proper v12 sound of all (not counting F12), 812 second, followed by Lusso. PS is very uninspiring burdened by all the gpf and regulations.
It’s actually the comparison HE made earlier in the thread. He said the GTS performed better than the Puro at lower rpms. I am showing him how ridiculous that earlier comment was. As far as the Cayenne Turbo GT “destroying” the Puro, it’s as if some of you guys don’t take 60 seconds to simply research the facts before you post. It’s so strange to me. Here, I’ve made it easy for you: Cayenne Turbo GT 0 - 100 kph 3.2 s 0 - 200 kph 11.7 s https://fastestlaps.com/models/porsche-cayenne-turbo-gt#google_vignette Purosangue 0 - 100 kph 3.3 s 0 - 200 kph 10.6 s https://fastestlaps.com/models/ferrari-purosangue The Puro weighs approximately 250lbs less than the Cayenne GT (4,806lbs wet vs 5,055lbs wet) and still makes 715 hp vs the Cayenne’s 650. Puro also redlines at 8,250rpm vs Cayenne’s 6,800 rpm which means more time under the curve. The inarguable fact is that the Puro is an extremely fast SUV with no real competition in terms of overall performance (the combination of acceleration, handling, and braking).
Who cares if it “needs it” or not. The Puro with Novitec (GPF removed) sounds absolutely amazing and I’m looking extremely forward to installing it on mine. If I wanted a 812 I’d have one, lol. Stop your whining already.
Not real world, the Turbo GT is under rated and super fast. It's just boring to me which is why I dumped for my perf.
100% real world. And no one “underrates” the Turbo GT. Everyone with a brain knows it’s super fast. Just like anyone with a brain realizes the Puro is as well. The numbers are the numbers, whether you like them or not.
The only thing I complaint about my perf is the side mirror is too big. The massage option I thought was just a gimmick, but I am pleasantly surprised about it as well as the soft close door and the speakers that rise up. I just took delivery too after speccing it a year ago. Too bad it is listed as 2024. Overall, for 340k, I feel all the money well spent, but I am not so sure with perf and its price tag. Kudos to all who is getting the PS. I would do novitec too for the PS if I were to get a used one later. Image Unavailable, Please Login
They claim it adds an additional 30hp. But I don’t personally care about that. I just want the sound.
The advantages of the Lambo are the room, the electronics are infinitely better and the sound is pretty good. I added sport cats and pretty sick now. The Purosangue has big shoes to fill IMO, especially for an extra $230k.
I owned a TGT and have driven the Puro enough to know. I wouldn't put too much into youtube videos. At the end of the day I don't think it matters much, I'm just saying the TGT is darn fast. Beats my perf as well. If I don't take mine it's because the dealer didn't make the deal work for me, I'm expecting they won't. I'll know May/June when it comes in.
I’ve driven both. The Turbo GT ‘feels’ a lot faster because of the torque. That said, by far the best way to compare acceleration is data. Data from timed acceleration testing and/or head to head racing. Nothing else actually matters.
Yup, that's what I meant. Big typo in my last post. I meant I am not sure about PS with its price tag.
You should stop repeating your lies. I have never made such comparison but you are trying to direct the discussion in such a direction. Shame it is.
What a crazy discussion. Puro sound is perfectly judged. It would be too much if it sounded like an 812 - it’s not a 2-seater, low-slung GT. Better for it to be what it is. The noise is wonderful, evocative and suits the car perfectly. It has a low and guttural sound, cultured with plenty of what’s needed to make you feel good about going fast. Better still, you don’t have to announce to the world what your right foot is doing. The pleasure is yours and nobody else need be bothered about it. It’s fast. Is it faster than a Porsche or Lamborghini? Does anyone really care? Are you really going to race a PS with a Urus? Don’t think so. For Ferrari to have made it loud, like a Superfast, would detract from the experience of this car for me. And as for Novitec….just why would that be a good idea? A straight-piped, loud Purosangue is a good way to ruin half a million bucks. The Purosangue is an utterly brilliant Ferrari ‘Q’ car, and with added exhaust volume it wouldn’t be.
You don’t think it’s a fair point to want the PS to be a little quieter than an 812? If I want noise I have other cars that match the loud noise they make - including 812. Purosangue just isn’t that kind of car. Where I live, making a lot of noise as you drive fast, especially in a 2 tonne, tall, sports car, is not really what you want to be doing. If it was louder it would be worse for my use. Happy if it’s different for you..
I think it's great to get feedback from someone who is really enjoying it. One of the things I love about the Lusso is that it's not too loud, and I heard a Purosangue statrt up while was at my detailers shop the other day and I thought it sounded great. It quiets down after the cold start. I am excited for when mine shows up. From test drives I think it might be a little too refined when just pottering about, but Im not sure, I need to live with it. In general Ferrari is good at judging these things, but then we have our own subjective reactions. I notice Lukey mentioned he didn't like the Lusso but I find it a wonderful drive, so we all have different reactions to things. I think its a really cool machine, I just wish the price wasn't quite so steep and that it had a central screen.
