Since the stock rear shocks are leaking, and after 6months of waiting, finally it arrived, ohlins ttx by Madeno racing, it is very lovely, thanks so much for all the effort and time spent on developing the kit, after I received it, I basically just do plug and play without touching any of the settings or ride height, although the ttx compare to stock look a lot shorter, but afte the installation it is about the same, it is just perfect.

Will see how it goes on mountains and the next track day, but the brakes on this cars are a big problem on track

Is it just plug and play? Does the manettino still work?

It is obvious that the OEM are progressively wound and the Ohlins aren't (or only minimally). That is why they look shorter; the OEM will settle more because of the lower spring rate in the low end of the progressive wind. The spring guage also looks much thicker so they are probably stiffer than OEM. What is the spring rate on the new shocks?

Any comments ? I guess these are a major improvement vs OEM.
    Kind regards

Likely not. The only problem with the Magneride shocks has been leaking. Otherwise the magneride technology still provides advantages over normal shocks, even those with external reservoirs.

Welcome to the board. Please what? Are you looking for clarification on what progressively wound springs are (because you clearly don't understand)?

    To be
to be honest, when I first had the car few years ago, the shocks was fine, but it is still not very good, after the ttx install, first feel on road and mountain roads, it felt like the car got a lot lighter, and u can push it a lot harder with confident, I strongly recommend this upgrade to the oem, oem just doesn’t provide that confident you get on this ttx, and this ttx on street with the fast road set up is kind of comfortable, but when you corner it, it holds up very well with very little body roll, where stock shocks just roll a lot

Thanks for your reply, it is exactly in line with what I heard from Madeno Racing, on top of this the setting possibilities are at a different level compared to stock. Last but not least, and they look really nice
    Kind regards

I have experience many suspenion kits, but first time on ttx, but I do have dfv, and I love how ttx perform, it is really comfortable but holds up very well, u can feel all the things on the wheels, I don’t know how to describe, it is not like super stiff which happen on other brands, it just feels like it absorb all things very well, compare to stock it is 2 different world, while my stock suspension was fine I did bring it to mountains and tracks, even on race mode, the body roll and pitch are crazy, but with ttx, all those are solved, I highly recommend this kit to anyone, especially the service and effort by Leo from Madeno racing, they custom build the top mount, lower solid fixings, tools to adjust the shocks without removing the wheels and the mini ecu to get rid of error codes.

Athim, I will order mine right after August since I am busy with business trips now.

I agree with you that Leo from Madeno racing has been really helpful thus far. I cannot wait to oder mine !!

By the way, your yellow GTO looks just great. I do have a scuderia red GTB with the GTO rims and the HTGE suspensions, antiroll bar, engine and gear box remapping, second cat removed, etc.

    kind regards

I am looking to upgrade my 599 GTB suspension, what do you advise between ohlins, KW and novitec? Or any other options if you can help please.

    Thank You,

No recommendations from me on that. OEM shocks work fine for street use.

KW makes the Novitec coilovers (if Novitec still sells them). Personal preference between Ohlins & KW. I've run both brands on various cars and have been quite happy, but Ohlins is easier for adjustment.

Can you share more about engine and gearbox remapping? I am guessing it is to GTO maps? Does it backfire upon downshift like the GTO? That would be amazing. The GTB/HGTE sounds a lot more tame

As a former owner of a 599 GTO .. I believe even though the GTO and GTB have different engines. I believe the headers on the GTO which are 6 into 1 makes sounds completely different and vastly improved, from the GTB headers which are 3 into one or 6 into two then one..
The GTO type headers are available on the aftermarket…and will make a big difference

Larry- Correct, the 599 has the old style 3-2-1 headers introduced in the 575M with precats in the headers and two primary cats behind. The GTO has 6-1 headers with no precats and only two primary low restriction cats. Huge difference in sound and horsepower. Fabio's headers and cats are the easiest way to get the GTO sound and loosen up the hp, especially with Trev's help for the tune. These two drawings from the parts catalog show the difference.

I know the GTO has second generation of the shocks, do you thinks it’s a good idea to fix it on the GTB ?

    than you

If they fit, yes. Not sure if the mounts are the same.
