Meh. A Ferrari* with an asterisk, like that ridiculous SUV. Even better, let's put an electric motor IN a SUV, for a completely KIA-like experience.

Likewise, I wouldn’t knock Purosangue; it’s an incredible machine.

I don't know if you realized that the rendering I posted shows at 95%+ the real car and that its official name will be "Ferrari Elettrica": I would add "by Apple" as a tribute to the real car producer...

Designed in California, assembled in Maranello™.

Best case for the model is that it will be a wake up call for certain people. My thoughts go out to future owners who will get the Maserati depreciation experience despite having a prancing horse on their steering wheel.

I try to not be a curmudgeon about change and just not comment if I don’t like something, but if that is indeed the electric Ferrari…

I do understand that when they started down the EV road, the world looked a bit different and it looked like ICE will end forever soon. Development takes time, yada yada. I think the only way this really sells is if required in order to buy something else. And for me, that will be a bridge too far.

I suppose if they do something truly brilliant - recharge in 15 minutes at Tesla charging station, 400 mile range etc, but I don’t believe that. I’m not opposed to EV. If I lived I. A metro area, I would have a Tesla. But I don’t and I don’t.

I happily have a Puro on order. I’m super excited about it! But if it did not have the V12, I would not have ordered. The whole point is to have a V12 that we can take others with us when going out, if we want to. Not interested if V8, V6 Hybrid and certainly not if EV.

It seems to me that if Ferrari wants to be a luxury product, then rarity is key (along with unique quality). Should focus on ICE and Hybrid done well. Rolex, Patek etc don’t make digital watches. Still highly coveted and not losing market AFAIK. Do that, Ferrari.

    Just my humble opinion.

Not sure why that person is saying an internet rendering is representative of the final car, but it will absolutely be a unique, rare, and sold out machine; as is the case with any new Ferrari in case we had forgotten [and at $500k it had better be.]

Regardless of what it looks like, the performance (for my interest) must be close to the 15 minute recharge at common location - Tesla preferred, and meaningful range of 300 miles real world which would likely mean 400 miles advertised. It could look like a LaFerrari and I would still have those requirements to consider.

Have you have seen the real deal and know the particulars? I'm curious because you seem very convinced it will be a remarkable machine.

I don't know why the user Puro refuses to accept what everyone saw on the streets here around, but unfortunately the real car is not far from the renderings and also has - or at least there are on the test car- audio speakers to reproduce outside an internal combustion engine sound

    Ciao

Not important. I’d much rather have an SF90. I can drive the SF90 across the country. Drive it all day and into the night if I want. I can drive it in the cold or in the heat. Fill it up in minutes. It has more performance than I will ever be able to tap on public roads and is pretty awesome. Or, I can stay with my V12 ICE machines which are really fantastic also. So, no the slot machine performance of the EV is not important in light of all day useability.

I still want to know: Have you actual knowledge? Or just talking theoretically? Either is fine, just want clarification…

I do not. Although I do have friends in design connected to Ive.

I do know that Ferrari doesn’t take r&d lightly; especially if they’re building a completely new kind of car.

Have Puro that I drive a few times a week as a daily. Of course it’s one of a kind. I don’t like the idea of an alternate power source on that car. Nor should Ferrari offer one.

Have the opportunity to reserve Elettrica, but not so infatuated to do so without seeing the design first; to your point.

    Congrats on the Puro.

We are finalizing our spec in a couple of weeks.
