I have an indy shop near me in Fort Lauderdale that I used for routine maintenance on my Cali T. It was time for my Portofino's first service under my care so I brought it in. All seemed fine on the short drive home, but after 10 miles I got the "Check engine oil" warning on the dash, oil temp and pressure were fine. I drove slowly home and checked the oil-below minimum on the dipstick.. I followed proper procedure per the owners manual and it took two quarts to fill it to just below max. What did the shop do wrong?

If there is no evidence of oil leaking I would say they did not follow the correct procedure to fill ... level ground, operating temperature, remove cap and dipstick, wait 5 minutes for everything to drain back in, then check the level. Or they just dumped 10 quarts in and never checked it?

No leaks, I suspect the scenario you mentioned...

Were the free factory annual services used up already? I assume they are on the Portofino as they were on the Cali.

    That's what I was wondering.
